Considering the official release date per Takara is February 23, and Primus is featured on Takara's website which usually starts listing toys due out in a certain month at the beginning of the same month...

No. I wasn't at BotCon. I had heard from people who went that there was nothing mentioned about it. Hell if it happened (which apparently it did) then I stand corrected.
Without actually being there, and having people tell me things (people that did go) what the hell else am I to expect? I'm not friggin' psychic.

Whether they said it or not is completely irrelevent anyway. There is no credibility in anything they say anymore.

My brother's cousin's uncle heard from this guy who knows this kid that Primus passed out at 31 Flavors last night...so I guess it's pretty serious.

    Wow.
    He looks awesome.

However a silly picture on some cardboard noway justifies an import cost at all.

And considering he has a toy crippling gimmick, I'll definately be waiting for a local release and clearance before I get one.

for the record, i actually put my boxes face front.

i love those g1 back box art.

also, the box art confirms that primus is inter(or is that intra) generational.

For A & B you're following the idea of 'Trickle-Down economics'. I prefer George Bush's term for that idea (before Reagan defeated him the primaries for the 1980 Presidential campaign): 'Voodoo economics'. We now have proof positive that Bush's term for it is correct in the form of the nearly extinct middle-class in the US. Of course, if you were well-versed enough in how the money that corporations makes gets spent (as Bush was then), you wouldn't need to have that historical reference to know how well that term applies. Hasbro, Wal-Mart, and Target are all international corporations. What benefits them does not benefit the North American economy (especially with so much of their spending going to China these days).

    For C, refer to:
Hasbro has gotten their full payment well before such toys are shipped, much less go on clearance. The stores buy based on what their purchasing executives think. The executives base that decision on how well they think the toys will sell. During the design process for a toyline, Hasbro brings in these purchasing executives to get their opinion on what should be done. Since they have been listened to directly, these executives in turn (since they believe their opinion is always right) think that they have boosted up any faults that the toyline might have had, therefore their ego overrides the logic of some of the not-so-impressive sales figure from the previous line. Thus they buy with the same confidence as they did for the last line (sharp move on Hasbro's part).

If you have anymore BS clay pigeons you like to send up, I'll be happy to shoot them down like Dick Cheney with his hunting buddies. :D

I'm not big on the box either, but I pre-ordered the Cybertron version way back when nonetheless. With the early bird discount for ordering, yeah, I'm paying slightly more than retail, to get it months earlier, and frees me from the hassle of driving out looking for it. To me, that's worth it.

If, if the US version has something really cool, that indeed will make us want two, then I'll wait for the US to hit clearance.

Maybe it's me, but it's a spectacular looking figure, and incredibly well armed, almost makes Unicron seem outflanked, outranked, and outgunned. (Also, for some reason, I get a Warworld vibe from him; maybe that's just me.)

As for the crippling TF, do we know for sure just how much that silly key is going to be needed? (Not the Cyber key, the chip square key) Remmy may just be using it to illustrate, not out of necessity; though I could easily be wrong.

Yeah it looks like on 3-4 occasions you NEED the key to unlock parts for the transformation... The figure itself still looks amazing, but I hate things like that. I want to know how much those parts "lock" and if you can just force em anyways without the key.

There are several instances where it is needed for the transformation.

What the earlier three guys said.

You need the force keys/square to transform him.
