Tony Bacala and DESTRO called in from SDCC to let us know that the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime DVD Edition appears to be all plastic.

UPDATE: Apparently appearances are deceiving. Word has come in that this recolor will contain the same amount of metal as the original.

...Well, at least that means it'll be cheaper.

Maybe that means it won't be as expensive as 20th Prime was. That'd be good news for anyone who wants to nab this one.

As long as it's not insanely expensive, I might pick this one up.

If it's not too expensive I'll definitely pick one up. Already have MP Convoy for display, it'd be nice to have an all plastic one to transform and re-pose without fear of die cast chipping.

I would highly doubt it at a price of $184 or more.

unless the price is stupid, and I fear it is, I might get one to repaint, though I am glad I got MP-01, a figure like that deserves Die-Cast.

I guess they justify the plastic talking stand as the trade off for the die cast .

Nope, won't be getting until clearance (just for the stand). You know they'll over produce this to drum up support for the live action movie. (prediction)

Goodness the diecast one was 65-80$ and 80$ for an all plastic one? What the hell? Does the stand weigh THAT much? I am hoping its just a fuzzy pic and it really says 29/.99 but i doubt it.

Sheesh talk about fans getting shafted!

Cool. I'll have to get him. I hope he stills has the "light up matrix" feature. A few mix and match items from the original 20th Prime should make this awesome.
