Just got some emails from Chris Ryall asking about getting my account reactivated (which I did) and asked him some questions about TF stories in 2008, not really expecting him to say of course. But this is what I asked.

Q: By the way, not really knowing that I might get an answer, but any BIG Transformer stories or news this year coming up?

A: Biiig things for the TFs this year, yeah, something no one knows about yet.

Q: The dead universe? Or is it the story that goes WAY back in the TF History?

A: Neither one, actually. Although we're also going to do the TF origins this year, too. That one will be called "The Thirteen."

Oh, YES. FINALLY we will have a definitive answer as to who are the original thirteen. (And Vector Prime and the Fallen better be in there for continuity's sake).

 

Good point - especially with VP.

Seeing how according to the Club comic he exists in EVERY universe, he MUST have an origin in the IDW universe for continuity to properly work.

Though it's my personal theory that the 13 are like Unicron - there is only ONE aspect of them that exists. By that, I mean that though they may have different origins, different histories in each universe, it is the same being that travels it.

Just like how Unicron, despite being a legendary god of chaos, was created by Primacron in one universe.

Sounds like fun as long as the panels aren't as cluttered and coloring isn't as murky as Megatron: Origin.

No, that's The Covenant of Primus, which was a test run created on a moon. The 13 are the first of the actual production run of Transformers. The only known members are:

1) Prima (first Matrix-bearing transformer)
2) The Fallen (Guardian of universal entropy and creation)
3) Vector Prime (Guardian of space and time)

Other possible members include:

-The Liege Maximo
-The Last Autobot
-Alpha Trion (A3)
-Maccadam
-Landquake/Skyfall/Breakaway/Topspin gestault

If this is an origin story, I hope they follow the "Universe" origin which ties in the Quintessons as well, having created "the Oracle", a shell-program for Vector Sigma.

 

Re-hashed DW idea? I'm not too sure about that, I was never a fan of the Fallen.   Also, the roles of the likes of VP and the Fallen remind me of Galactus, Eternity, Death etc in the Marvel multiverse.

 

AllI can say is that:

1) I finally got something news worthy after years and years!

2) Some of you are on the right track of who and when for the "13"

 

Well this year's gonna be great.

 

Man this is good news, can't wait to hear their take on the 13! Also I don't care who they do or don't include, it's their take on their Transformers universe and IDWs is the only one I really live to follow right now. You'll never get all the convoluted scenarios to line up exactly so why worry about it? I say good luck to the IDW staff and let's get ready for a hell of a ride.
