I didn't know about this till recently, so I decided to make a new thread about it (didn't really see a point in making a zombie thread). It looks really good, imo, and it's something I would buy if they were to ever use it. They could quite easily get a RID Sideswipe repaint out of this design too (another RID homage in the Universe line would be warmly welcomed). They probably won't ever use it, but one can hope

Good point, but I'm not exactly sure how well this design would transfer into toy form. If done it could be very good, but it could also be really bad. Still, I think it would be worth the risk of it sucking if they were to at least try to make it, even more so if they were to repaint/retool him into RID Sideswipe, and then repaint/retool Classics Mirage into RID Mirage. Just got a new idea for a thread, that I don't think has been done as of yet.

 

Yeah, we saw this leak before we even knew what Classics Hot Rod ended up looking like and frankly... Classics Hot Rod ended up being a big let down. Frankly, I keep hoping beyond hope that Hasbro will wise up and use this design as part of Universe/Classics 2.0 at some point.

Actually, it would probably translate into a toy quite well.
It's a Don Figueroa classic.
I remember an interview with him a while back.
He said he designs all his characters with the ability to become toys.
He designs them with a possible toy in mind.
Remember, a number of the 6" titaniums are his designs.
Grimlock & the seekers for example.
I'd love to see this in toy form.

 

Classics Hot Rod was a huge let down. I wish they would either use this as a classics 2.0 upgrade to Hot Rod..or make a new voyager Rodimus Prime altogether. I don't know if they will do this because the Titanium 6'' Rodimus Prime has already been made..but damn it'd be nice

I like this. If you look real hard though, you can totally see that it evolved into classics Rodimus. They just decided to make toy more toon movie accurate in car mode.
