Howdy yall, long time no post. Recently I was reading up on Wikipedia and came across a little bit of information and an accompaning picture; seen below:

    [IMG] Source: Allspark.com

    "Transformers: Universe Megatron (unreleased)
A proposed exclusive for a future BotCon, this Megatron would have been a remolded version of Transformers: Robots in Disguise Megatron in the colors of Megatron's transmetal dragon body, with a new headsculpt based on Megatron's traditional head design (as well as remolded dragon heads) and a new accessory in the form of his famous rubber duck. Although the toy never materialised due to 3H Enterprises' loss of the licence to the convention, the appearance of Megatron's glowing eyes within shadow in the Transformers: Universe comic books was intended to foreshadow the figure. "

Now that's one exclusive I would have bent over backwards for. It just works out perfectly and why did Hasbro not go through with this masterpiece is beyond me. The story is behind this is also compelling. Last time we saw BM Megs he was a Nietzche-esque TF bent on purging Cybertron of any organic stain. He was duking it out with Optimus Primal as Optimal Optimus' body in ironic fashion as one of the best TF duels of all time. At the end, both fell into the core of the planet and thus, Primal's organic and Megs' mechanical influences merged and spawn a new golden age for Cybertron, transforming it into its transorganic state. So the question would arise how Megs returned first of all, then why he returned as a two headed dragon (and just about every other form under the sun) being organic without his 'purged' state? But not just how, more importantly to the questions, why? And if Hasbro went through with the figure, would you have gotten it? Or should they still go through with it?

    Yeah with his super-mode Defensor!

Also strscrm, don't get bent out of shape over contradicting continuities. Transfromers is notorious for being inconsistent.

And in response to the O.P, yes I would buy that! I always liked TM2 Meg's color scheme, it looks great on that mold.

No, people would just complain about hasbro being cheap or the lack of the other four protectobots.

What I meant was. All the whiny little fanboys would bitch and pitch fits about hasbro's "lack of creativity" and "They should make more original gesalts".

It's not hard to imagine, though I'm positive some people would like it.

Maybe the reason he came back as an organic was because that is who he truly is. The Oracle made him as he truly should be and not some obsession of his to be void of organics like when he became Noble/Savage, a TF with 2 beast modes and nothing else. Perhaps this was meant to be a 'perfect' Megatron, truly purged of any imperfections.

I'd still love to see this version of Megatron someday, it just seems.....right. I never bought the Botcon Deathsaurus cause I never got into the character, but I would have loved getting this, can't have it all I guess.:redface2:

That was a cool idea, but I think Botcon Deathsaurus was a better choice for the mold, better than going from one Megatron to a different Megatron at least.

As for Defensor from RID Prime... why hasn't anyone thought of using Titanium Prime for this? Hasbro could slap on a new head and give us the figure we never got easily as a Titanium. And they're always looking for easy new figures to do (4 uses of Titanium Thundercracker's mold?) and it would be SO much better than if they repainted it as Universe RID Prime...

I agree with Omegus. It's an impressive remold, but not an inspired idea. We got a red Primal as Universe Primal and a yellow RiD Prime as Universe Prime, frankly, I consider the recent TRU Beast Megs to be my Universe Megatron. The RiD Megs is slightly more interesting as Deszaras because we've never had an articulate Deszaras; on the other hand, we already have 3 very acceptable Beast Megatrons

    Quoted for truth.

But yeah, if I recall they were going to do Devcon from E-Slugslinger, Brawn and I wanna say Roadbuster (maybe somebody else) from E-Strongarm, and The Last Autobot from A-Tidal Wave. All their color sheets looked nice, kinda a shame they'll never be made though.
