I got a Skyhyper fairly recently, and the toy catalogue that comes with it shows a recoloured Flak/Powerbomb and Sunrunner that I've not seen before. Both of them shown with the Landshaker and Skyhyper bases, instead of Gunrunner and Deadwheeler.

Anyway, I thought I'd share, so here's a quick scan of the pic in question. Shame they never saw release, the colour scheme on Sunrunner looks great.

Not in those colourschemes. They were different from the US release, but they were blue/white instead of cream/green.

    Here's their tfu.info pages:

    Flak vs Powerbomb

    Sunnrunner vs Sunrunner

The only other variants of the Battle Patrol were some of the Japanese ones had yellow parts instead of gray. That catalogue is the first time I've seen them in those colours [dark green/black].

Interesting. I can honestly say you've got me there. I've never seen those before.

I guess it's possible they are early hand painted versions, so never got as far as production. It's happened on Hasbro toys before (Energon Ultra Magnus), and I'm sure it has happened with Takara ones too.

Cool. I learned something new today. Glad I've giving up collecting MM or else I'd have something else to hunt down now!

Didn't one of the pack-in leaflets of the day in the UK show MM bases with different Micromasters as well? Could be something along those lines.

For the most part, it was the original colour of the MM that came with the base. So it shows Whisper instead of Groundshaker for example. There's some scans at TF@TM here.
