Seller on Ebay with lots of Unseen G2 and BW stuff

    http://www.qksrv.net/click-1645815-5463217?loc=http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsenuseret72QQhtZ-1

Browse through his listings to see copies of proofs for G2 and BW card art. Including G2 Swoop (green and blue) and a 3rd re-deco of Grimlock in yellow and blue stripes.

He also has test shots of older toys including BW Scorponok, Terrosaur and Rattrap.

I'm not completely sure if this is newsworthy, but I thought the revelation of what a G2 version of Swoop would look like and another repaint of Grimlock for G2 might be worth getting the word out on.

One has to wonder how things would be today if some of those Unproduced G2 figures were ever made. Nice find Chaos Convoy. :thumbs2:

That is truly awesome. This has been the perfect 30 days of unproduced stuff, apparently.

G2 was awesome. I love my G2 Bruticus.

Kinda cool to see what could have been with those G2 dinobots.

I wonder how much I can get for my G2 Silver Grimlock MOC, not that I plan to sell it anytime soon.

They're cool pics to look at, but the G2 pics are not even proofs. Just color copies that could be made over and over and over...

It's not what I would call a huge "holy grail" ... copies are available out there. There's really nothing we haven't seen before. Maybe some poorly drawn line-art to correspond with the toys, but that's it.

Wow, that bad? The G2 Grandreams annual has to be by far the worst out of all the annuals by a good margin.

Basically photoshopped original boxart, tracings of the boxart and dodgy extra lineart based on it. Not as bad as the Dinobot strip in the annual, though. Nothing is.

Question for somebody in the know (if it doesn't get answered here, I'll post a thread on it): If you look at these 3 auction links (from the same seller we're discussing, of course):

    http://www.qksrv.net/click-1645815-5463217?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Transformers-Blowout-proof-card_W0QQitemZ6049099937QQcategoryZ4696QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

On the bottom left corner of each card for all 3 it says that you can get a "Solarbot Transformer" for free and details are on the back of the card. However, the backs of the cards have not been photographed. I initally thought the backs might not exist, but in the other Go-Bots auctions the seller has going both the fronts and backs of the cards are pictured. Basically, I want to know what the hell this free Transformer is/was/could have been. I did a bit of google digging, but turned up nothing and likewise for some transfan sites. Anybody know?

Hi Triformis; unfortunately the jury is still out on what exactly a solarbot is.

As far as the proof cards go; the three in question do not have backs to them. This is because they are proof card sheets. Uncut. The front and rear of the card would have been printed in the same sheet facing the same way. The two pieces would then be cut from the one sheet and glued back-to-back to create a visual mock-up.

    Hope this helps.

    Ras-

That info. does indeed help, although I am quite surprised the fandom has yet to determine what the "Solarbot" might have been. I would have thought that somebody had dragged the answer out of a Hasbro employee long ago. Interesting....As for the proof card concept, that I understood pretty well. I was only confused because the seller calls the other Go-Bots cards "proof cards" as well, but I didn't notice that what they really appear to be are simply store-ready cards without the bubble attached (or something to that effect).

Geez. How many Grimlocks were Hasbro planning on releasing in G2?

And then people complain about how Simon Furman overuses the character. :D
