    Cliffy B apologizes (sort of)

Found this edit on Cliffy B's website

Meh IMO this apology is useless. He's already made himself look like a fool and came out with egg on his face. But that's what happens when you jump the gun formulating opinions when you don't have the full picture

I gotta give Cliffy B credit. The guy isn't afraid to state his opinion.

There's stating your opinion, and then there's acting like a complete ass about your opinion. One warrants respect, the other does not. Cliff Bleszinski has done plenty of things that deserve respect, but this wasn't one of them.

    According to you.

I for one admire his boldness. The fact that he isn't afraid of his feelings or passion is worthy of respect.

I've seen more bitching and bellyaching in this thread over what CliffyB has to say compared to what i've seen about most anything else involving the movie.

CliffyB is a pretty cool guy, he has his right to post what he thinks on HIS SITE. If he were putting this out into the media as if it was a diatribe about Michael Bay, then sure, fry him, but I see nothing different here than somebody ranting on their myspace or livejournal or whatever.

Let him blow off some steam, god knows many of you here need to for taking it so f'n seriously.

Ya know, there was a thread with Don Murphy blowing some steam, with just as much vitrole... but ranting in a different way. While Cliffy was blowing up that there might be too many changes, Murphy was ranting about... well, complainers and people like Cliffy. (Actually, it read to me that DM was crying that we fans didn't make a statue of him, give him enough Lewinski, or create a statue of him to place on our front lawns- instead we dared to not like certain concepts and ideas. Wah!)

Gee- was there any criticism's about Murphy being an ass? Nope. Instead, there was a lot of knee-jerk support, saying "gee, I can't blame him".

So it's not really the ranting and tantrum like tone; it's just that they disagree with what was said. I can almost guarantee if Cliffy was bitching about the bitchers, ala Murphy, there would be no criticism.

Respect for what?Being an internet tough guy

He wouldn't have the BALLS to talk like that in person because in person you see the look in the eyes of the person you're disrespecting.

Like Flamepanther said there's expressing an opinion and being a jack-ass.Cliffy looked like a jackass. If you can't express how you dislike something w/o being nasty that you(meant in the general sense) as a person have problems

I remember that thread although it was removed.I was the one who posted it and you conieniently forgot that some people like myself stated that Don Murphy kind of got what he deserved.A lot of us criticized him going to the posters on his board for input.Because what happened would happen

Yet at the end of the day, after all their ranting and raving, bitching and moaning, and the general concensus among fans, Cullen was names Prime.

    Quit bitching about the bitchers.

Honestly- why spend so much time wringing your hands over the tone of someone else's statement? And who is anyone else to judge?

"Guys, we really want Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime! It's really important to us, and here are several reasons why..." <-- Good.

    *tantrum* *explitives* <--Bad. Pathetic.

    'Nuff said.

Respect is earned, not given freely. The only thing you should expect from a person initially is common courtesy and maybe a bit of compassion.

Using pedophilic sodomy as a metaphor for not having your expectations met by a movie in production does not earn respect. I'm honestly offended that someone in a position of notoriety (as a game designer and a quasi-public figure) can't orate their concerns about a movie in a more polite fashion.

SO, you think what I do compares?

Or is it that it's not appreciated when I challenge *some* the same way that *some* challenge others?
