I started this as a means to share and help others here in how some of our favorite bots names are pronounced. Anything between the American names to Japanese.
As an example, I'll start with BW Manterror.
For the longest time as a kid I thought it was manta-roar....in recent couple years I realized it's probably man-terror

When I was little I thought Bludgeon was pronounced "Blood-geon", with a hard "g"

I've always pronounced it "Death-a-saurus" because of that.

The Japanese recolor of Torca is called "ElphaOrpha," but that's been turned into "Elphorca" by IDW, which is better I guess but it makes my head spin.

The winner for baffling pronunciations (and spellings!), though, is Rartorarta... or Rartrarta... or Lartolarta... or Lartlarta... or Rartolarta... or Rartlarta... or Lartorarta... or Lartrarta.... or Rartorata... or Rartrata... or Lartolata... or Lartlata... or Rartolata... or Rartlata... or Lartorata... or Lartlara... or....

My brain persists on interpreting the name "Rot Gut" as two German words that translate as "Red Good".

Also, I used to call Rodimus Prime Road-imus because I thought Rod-imus sounded dumb. Oddly now I think my road pronunciation is the dumb one.

I had thought of this thread before seeing that and thought it would be a nice resource. It quickly stopped being funny and a waste of my time.

Fracas is - I think - the only G1 character whose name is pronounced differently across the English-speaking world.

In the US it's Fray-cass (as per the dialogue in The Rebirth), but in the UK (and also Canada, I believe), it's pronounced Frac-car, closer to the original French.

You could also make a case for Barrage (does it rhyme with carriage or Farage?) but that one's a little less clear cut.

Not from what I've seen of his videos, but to each their own.
