For me this applies to any TF really, not just bayverse. Accuracy is a good bonus but I'm willing to overlook that if it makes for a fun toy.

 

Lot of POTP Legends hate here; if you're sensitive, run now.


Beachcomber has fugly proportions as a robot and a buggy.

Windcharger is a great figure ruined by an intentionally atrocious headsculpt.

Battletrap (as well as his component figures) is compromised in all five modes due to the decision of making each vehicle also a separate robot.

Cindersaur is a tremendously hideous repaint, and Outback a tremendously boring one.






...Slash and Tailgate are great though.

 

Tailgate and Windcharger both desperately need thigh swivels, though.

 

I dont like faction symbols on alt modes (unless they're sort of obscured like on some movie figs). They break the illusion

 

I don't like it when Transformers don't have faction symbols. It doesn't feel right... I'll take faction symbols in alt mode over no faction symbols at all.

The best movie toys - did NOT appear in the films at all (DOTM Skyhammer, HFTD Banzaitron/Bludgeon, Seaspray and especially Breecher.)

 

I am glad I am not a MP collector. I bought MPM Barricade and that thing is definitely NOT $100 worth of toy. And I love me Some Barricades. No way I would spend anything close to that for anything else. Some buyers regret and would be an easy first sell off.

That would have been nice to know that. Still pretty excessive. I never saw him for that price online. Every site has the Hasbro edition for 109 and the takara for 99

1. I like when faction symbols are Silver, as they look more dynamic and imposing.

2. Studio Series Grimlock's Dino mode is great.

3. I don't mind SS Optimus' height. What I do mind, is how he's being repacked, with no noticeable changes. He could've came with new weapons, a brighter paint job, but no.

4. I hate how people write figures off for something as simple as paint. A figure could be Masterpiece level in terms of paint, and someone will still say they wish there was more. If you want a figure to look like what you want, then paint it yourself.

5. When someone says that the Studio Series line killed POTP, it drives me insane. What company would screw up the chance of getting twice the income? Frankly, G1 seems to be permanently engraved in this franchise, so is too so much to ask for a different continuity to get some shelf space?

 

Until VERY recently that was a very popular and widely repeated opinion.

Only MPM's, Studio Series and two movies with less toy only characters have startedto change that

 

POTP Windcharger and Tailgate are ugly. I vastly prefer their previous versions.

 

This might not be a “toy” opinion but I think FOC Grimlocks sword is kinda ugly and I don’t like how all the third party guys keep recreating it for all the Grimlocks. I’m much more a fan of the huge Viking broadsword kinda design.

I put that in there, because I've seen multiple people say they wish the paint was lighter in the Movie Toys thread. I personally just wanted weapons.
