The mythology in TLK is, so far, not as complicated as people are making it (especially the people who still think the comics are canon).

 

I think New Optimus looks better than Original Trilogy Optimus.

Cade is a way better lead than Sam.

I don't really find Sam's parents and Simmons all that funny.

 

Unpopular Opinions:
1. I actually liked Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in DOTM. She had just enough charm to warrant staying in the movie and the scene with her and Megatron was actually pretty cool.

2. I actually really like Hound in AOE. Something about John Goodman playing a cigar-munching, minigun-shooting badass just brings a smile to my face.

3. I actually like that Optimus Prime has become a murderous jerk as the movies go on. It gives him a character arc.

 

1. The movies are in my top 3 favorite series, with Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean.

2. The Decepticons have great designs. Evil villains should look butt-ugly.

3. Sam's parents are hilarious. They remind me of my own.

One other definite unpopular opinion I have in particular to AOE is that I thought the whole transformium thing, including the "cubeformer" transformations actually works. In other words, I like it and find it really clever. I understand why it's hated but I can't see us humans making transformers that transform like cybertronians do.

 

Revenge of The Fallen is the best of the series.

 

Killing Shockwave off was an extremely stupid move, and having Megatron constantly come back has just become boring and annoying.

I think they could've brought some more Autobots in, and they should never have brought in Jolt, because he was useless.

The Twins shouldn't have been killed off over their supposed "Racism" (F***ing BS).

I came into this thread with the intention of saying that I love the twins and most of the ad libbing the actors did was hilarious (even though I see the Ice King every time I watch them)..... But I'm seeing I'm not alone in that regard.
Hell, my old roommate when I lived in the slums thought they were hilarious.

I think Megan Fox's character didn't need to be in the movies at all. Or at least not the first one.

 

I hate when people call Carly a useless character. She changed the freaking tide of the war. If not for her, Megatron would not have stood up to Sentinel, and Optmus would be dead.

 

I like the twins.

 

Yeah I actually smashed my phone in anger when I found out Bay pulled them out of the Films because of "Racism" and all of the hate they were getting.

True story.

 

I had no problem with Tessa and Shane as a couple. They seemed were close enough in age.

I don't think AoE is as bad as some people make it out to be, especially when some claim it's worse than RotF.

I like Bumblebee and don't want him to die. Yeah, I like the character too much.

 

Optimus's new trilogy design is better than the first one. It's much easier to read, I am a huge fan of the face and he doesn't have those weird, extra long looking legs.

Hound is the best thing to come out of this movie. John Goodman is wonderful as him and there is something charming about Hound's rugged, trigger-happy and psychotic demeanor. Probably helps that I still see him in a dark comic light, which makes him pretty funny.

 

AOE probably has the best set up of any of the films, it's just held back by trying to do a little too much, having a really long runtime, and needing a bit tighter writing / dialogue. It sells the robots in disguise concept better than any film since the first, and has a real sense of urgency with the Autobots on the run the whole time.

The focus should have solely been on the human villainy - the Autobot hunting and folly in accidentally reviving Megatron. Lockdown could have still appeared, but would have been better off as just appearing briefly / working in the shadows as setup for a future appearance. Everything involving the Knightship (the rescue and the magnet sequence) went on way too long.

 

Well I can understand that, it's just when some people claim AoE is worse than RotF that confuses me.
