who are these guys ? any ideas?
That's "Devcon": Devcon (DOTM) - Transformers Wiki
The quadrupedal one's official name is Devcon going off of concept art. The other one is a generic.
Goddammit, stop using that name AND wiki.
EDIT: What the? I could've sworn you had a link to the bad wiki...
I did after Googling something to throw up there real quick without really paying attention, then took it down after realizing what I had done.
Not apologizing for "Cloverjolt", though
Originally we called the long legged one the Cloverfield Bot due it being based off the Cloverfeild Monster. Concept art has named it Devcon. Although it is questionable weather or not that was its final name as many characters had the wrong name on their concept art (Ironhide as Rumble, Topspin as Warpath etc). But with no other official name, Devcon is now what is used to refer to that thing.
I call him Trypticon. Mostly because the Cloverfield monster is a bit of an homage to Godzilla, and Trypticon bears an uncanny resemblance to Godzilla. Also because of...
...this. "Devcon" was probably a working name or even a cover-up name. It's whatever you like to call it, I say.
That was movie Overlord. Similar designs were Bludgeon, Thunderwing and Straxus.
That is a horrible name. He doesn't even have anything to do with Jolt; its not like Jolt reformatted into that as revenge for not even having a speaking part in ROTF.
Even Cloverfieldcon/bot was better than that.
Concept art says Devcon. And we have no other official name, so he's Devcon. NOT fucking "Cloverjolt".
why would they even bother giving a cover up name for him? it's not like he played a pivotal role. he looked cool, that's it.
Would the name CloverJolt just fucking die? That's the worse, most random, and most idiotic fan name I've ever heard.
Anyway, that's everyone's favorite Cloverfield look-a-like Devcon. He's awesome.
Because they wanted to give their model a name?
Devcon is the closest thing to Official things we have, and I assume that's his final name considering he isn't a character who's name is important enough to change.
You mean "Devcon"? In that case it's not a "cover name". As you said, there's no point in a cover name if the character doesn't get named on screen, so in that case, the name "Devcon" isn't a cover name. It's just a WIP pre-production name. Nothing secretive about it.
Separate names with a comma.
