Well, it was stated in the same interview that I got the above information from that Cyclonus was one of the ones that was not designed with another character in mind and that they would probably do a themed repaint of him (whatever this actually means). Personally, it's probably easier to break it down by mold as so... based on what we do know...

Deluxes:

• Prowl - Silverstreak - Smokescreen
• Sunstreaker - Sideswipe - Red Alert (probably coming)
• Octane (no obvious repaint/remold here)
• Galvatron (again, no obvious repaint/remold here)
• Ironhide - Ratchet
• Cyclonus (no obvious repaint/remold here)
• Cheetor - Ravage (it's possible) - Tigatron (seems less likely this time around)
• Hound - Swindle (I'd say very very likely for this)
• Dinobot - Maximal Grimlock (again, very likely)
• Also, it's probably safe to say that they're going to continue pounding that Classics Seeker mold into the ground. Still got two more Rainmakers, Sunstorm & those Lavender Generic Seekers to do.

Voyagers:

• Inferno - Grapple (who doesn't see that coming?)

Ultras:

• Silverbolt (no obvious repaint.)
• Onslaught (no obvious repaint... unless they do Mega-Octane...)
• Powerglide - Storm Cloud (honestly, I would have said nothing obvious, but Hasbro already did a Micromaster homage here.)

I think he's an obvious remold from the Sideswipe variation of that mold. I'd bet he'll be out at some point.

I think "themed repaint" means that the character would still be the same but the colors would be different. Like Blazing Lockdown for example.

 

Honestly, I can't get enough of that seeker mold. I will buy every new character they release in that.

Grapple-i think the reason they gave him the watergun instead of a ladder was to differentiate himself
Jazz-i hope they do him as a new mold, though im hoping they release him as Ricochette first, then repaint him as Jazz once hes off Animated

Trailbreaker/Hoist: dont know too much about them, but wasnt Trailbreaker recently rereleased?
Tracks: DOES have repaint potential-WHEELJACK!!!! though i hope its the other way around-make a Wheeljack, then repaint him as Tracks.

as for the Cons, i sadly agree-even though i do want Soundwave to be upgraded and Blitzwing to be in Classics, itll have to wait. though i think Movie Soundwave could be a decent mold, and Blitzwing can get a toy maybe after ROTF?

also hoping for Red Alert as Sideswipe w/ a lightbar and waiting for Smokescreen.

i figure Cheetor and Tigatron would me more likely than Ravage, all depends, i guess. totally agree for Hound and Swindle, and they should give Maximal Grimlock (if done) a new head

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Though, that definitely means an easy pass for me on whatever new version of the character they do.

Well, the reason I say that Tigatron seems less likely as a repaint of Cheetor this time around is because how close to a real cheetah that Cheetor's cat mode looks now. It doesn't say 'generic big cat with spots' anymore like the original toy did. It really looks like a cheetah and a white tiger repainted out of it... would look kind of weird given the two have very different body types. Ravage... they could probably work with that one I think.

As for Grims... if they planned it from the beginning to be repainted from the design stage... he will get a new head as well. That's what Mr. Rawley stated in the club magazine anyways (that they'd -the Universe design team- were working with Takara from the beginning in the design phases to work any remolding into the mold from the get go so that when the planned repaints came out we weren't just buying extra paint).
