i have always been a fan of the original G1 powerglide. maybe it was his ease of transforming, the articulation in his arms, the fact he is a warthog jet (my favorite), or b/c he was the only transformer in the series history that ever did-the-do w/ a human chick. who knows? what i do know is that 25 years later when i learned that Hasbro was releasing him (as an ultra class fig no less), i was seriously looking forward to getting my hands on one (or 3 now). as w/ many figs nowadays, hasbro left ALOT of room for improvements. i manged to do 6 stages of mods on this guy. i had so much fun doing this custum. i was even more pleased w/ the final result.

    what i used:
-universe red powerglide as a base
-universe white powerglide junker (thanks sanchomaul)
    -a dremel set
    -a drill set
    -epoxy
    -large file
    -fine sandpaper
    -acrylics and spray enamel

    what i did:
-dremeled the sides of outer feet to give him a flat footprint in any pose.
    -removed all landing gear.
-dremeled fuselage hinge to allow closer placement on back of fig.
-drilled a hole on the rear tail fin to fit gun as a shoulder mounted cannon.
-completely gutted all electronics to eliminate top heavy problem.
-replaced clear funky turbines w/ normal turbines.
-fitted parts from the junker white PG onto the red one (arms, upper legs, chest piece, head).
-dremeled the left & right horizontal plates next to his neck completely off.
    -strengthened wing/arm connector point.

I got my own Powerglide, but I like him the way he is, but how you did yours is very cool. The mods did wonders for him so thats my two cents.

i want to eventually transfer the jet turbines in the correct placement on the wings (think cobra rattler) where he looks the same in robot mode. should be fun.....
