"Former partner of OPTIMUS PRIME, OVERLOAD has since struck out on his own. His past and origins are a mystery, even to him, and so he left CYBERTRON, hoping to find answers on one of the last (or "lost"?) colony worlds. He has traveled now for years, battling and destroying any DECEPTICONS he finds. Mostly, however, he hunts for clues about where he came from, or who he truly is."

Looks like he is Armada Overload during the Cybertron series, not from G1.

The toy and the color scheme came first. The character and the bio came second. It was supposed to be G1 Micromaster Flak I believe.

Although I do agree in such a case there are many other characters they could have used that would have been closer to the mold and colors used than Armada Overload.

I think they should've still gone with Armada, just for a different mold. Dropshot is still shelf warming.

Possibly true... and if so, what a damn injustice! I demand more references to obscure Micromasters!

Just be glad we're not getting any more repaints of that damn classics seeker mold!

This mold here has only been released in America twice before Overload.

So Dropshot, who looks like nobody in particular, not even the super-obscure G1 character for whom he is named, gets put in the G1 series. And Overload, who looks like Flak, gets put in the Cybertron series.

    Huh. Whatever.

Not that I really care what series these dudes are technically from.... I'll display them wherever they look good and fit in well. And I'm sure there is marketing logic behind the choices, I just don't quite understand it.

Both the classic seekers mold and Cybertron Scattershot mold are nice, but I would prefer more repaints of the classic seekers than the Cybertron Defenese Scattershot mold.

Pretty much my thoughts on this. But hey, re-done characters that AREN'T from G1 always get applause from me, so, suits me.

Got Dropshot... debating if giving up shelf real-estate is worth getting this guy. I dig the paint job, but overall the mold is kinda just ok. He's not very posable.

Can we get onto the fact that the bio references how Overload showed up in Armada with no explanation? Hence his search for "where he came from, or who he truly is."

Yeah, I thought that was cool. Woulda been cooler if he had found an explanation in the bio, or something. It's like they pique your curiosity, but without any chance of a real resolution.

I'm sure Hasbro could've changed the color scheme if they wanted to. They make last minute changes all the time. Were this mold in the Armada color scheme it would've looked a 100x better and been a must buy. As it is, this "Holiday Scattorshot" is a waste of plastic.
