I've been on the fence about this figure for quite some time. I love the 'bot mode but don't like the alt mode that much.

Also, the biggest size class that I like is Voyager.....I'll buy figures bigger than that but, only if they're OUTSTANDING like MP Prime and Grimlock or if it's the only way to get a certain character like Animated Ultra Magnus.

The Ultra size class of this figure has been scaring me away a little bit. So, should I finally get this figure or not? WIll I be disappointed? PLEASE help sell me on this figure either way.

Also, if you have any good pics of Onslaught, please post them in this thread. THANKS!!

I like him. Not one of my all time top choices, however he is a solid figure and should be in your collection if you collect Classics/Universe.

    Definitely.

He's an awesome figure. Pick him up of you can, you won't regret it.

But try to get one with the fixed sound effects.

What is the difference in the sound effects between the original and "fixed" versions?

    Draven--THANKS for the AWESOME pics!!

My roommate has him. Great figure, but I personally would prefer getting the Henkei version. The colors look a lot nicer in my opinion :)

I don't think you're going to lose at all by getting this mold ^_^

Yea. The best of the Universe Ultras. He's a great figure to bolster your Classics Decepticons.

And if you're a G1 purist, spring the extra cash for the Takara USA Edition.

On the original, the siren only plays once when you hold down the button.

On the fixed version, the siren loops over and over again as long as you hold the button down.

Also a few other things were improved, but that's the most noticeable.

His sound effects triggered by a button on his turret are a gun firing sound and a siren sound. Both should make noise as long as you hold the button down. The original one just makes a short chirp for the siren no matter how long you hold the button.

I've only got the Hard Head version of this mold, but it's a great-looking figure and FUN! Hope you enjoy it!

He's a solid, blocky Universe figure. His transformation is almost a too simple, but it's not unexpected for his size class and considering his buddies Powerglide and Silverbolt. Nice articulation and posability.

Also, Takara deco > Hasbro deco.

If you're only looking for the mold itself and not the character, then you might still be able to find Hardhead clearanced at Wal-mart. I got mine for $15 a few weeks back. If you save on the cost, you might feel a little better about buying an Ultra.
