One of the things that really upset me about my previous attempt at a "Classic" Overdrive was its overall sloppiness. This can be attributed to me being careless and not planning accordingly. So I scrapped the original project (not a surprise) and decided to start from scratch. I decided to spend more time working with apoxie and styrene to give the project a more complete and polished look. The piece that folds down behind the canopy is one of the areas I wanted to pay attention to this time around. I decided to superglue pieces of styrene over the areas that were exposed once the spoiler was removed. I didn't want people familiar with the mold to point out where those parts used to be as indicated by the glaring holes. Another area of focus is the gun. I always considered Classic Jetfire's gun (or Treadbolt's in this case) to be perfect for Overdrive even though it's a little on the big side, but I didn't want him to be carrying anything puny either. I cut off the handle from Rodimus' gun and superglued it to the bottom of Treadbolt's gun. That way it'd be a guaranteed fit in both the hands and the undercarriage. It still splits in half and I plan on implementing this feature into the wings when they're completely modded. I'm also going to reinforce the handle a little bit so it doesn't snap off. I also made the visor a little thinner and more refined. 3/10/09 Added new bot mode pics. Paint is a little more complete this time around. A few touch-ups to go.
