Ok, I'm sure this was a safety feature in Ironhide, but his upper torso is removeable, so fans can recreate Ironhide's death in TFTM ( when Megatron shot the top half of Ironhide off in the shuttle)
Am I the only one who was horrified by that shuttle attack scene? It was just so gruesome, I was in literal terror watching them kill Brawn.
I didn't like Brawn so I didn't care about him....but seeing the smoke come out of Prowl's mouth and eyes freaked me out. Crazy scene.
I think Prowl's death is one of the most gruesome I've seen in cartoons... and the red dust flying up after Megatron blasts Ironhide is just... evil. I was quite shocked the first time I saw that scene.
I was 13 so it didn't freak me out. I hated that so many of my favorite characters died, but I wasn't traumitized by it.
Don't wanna hijack the thread, but is Iron supposed to be so depressed looking? I think its actually ok, old gruff whatever, but if you stand him straight hes got his head at a perma-tilt.
The tilt is part of the design flaw. Peaugh documents it, and the fix, in detail in his review thread, but long story short: The pelvis and spine need to Dremeled down a bit to have a more flush fit. Once done, his head will pop up into place more, so he's not as hunched. And the spine popping in half is what made the Dremel mods much, much easier to accomplish. It's amazing what a missing piece of plastic will do for a figure. A world of difference, I shit you not.
