Info here: ToysRus Exclusive Reissue Insecticons Images - Transformers News
Never got to have thme as a child. So as a man-child I must have them now.
I dunno, I might get it.
What's the price again?
Sweet can't wait to get these.. I wonder why hasbro couldn't just add and remove a letter from each name instead of renaming them.. Like call Bombshell "Bombshel" with only one L and Shrapnel make it " Shrapnell " and just add an L . This way its not using the copyrighted name but still sounds the same ...
Who has the copy right to these names anyways, some hasbeen toy line that don't exists anymore ?
No matter though , it's just a name and well all know what there real names are. Cant wait to get these and Perceptor...
Why do they keep chaning the names, animated dinobots, insecticons, hot roddimus, etc etc. I guess it will be the insecticon remakes for me at least the box looks great and the names are correct. I will pick up the perceptor TRU exclusive though.
Some of the orginal names have been copyrighted by other companies over the years so they can no longer use them.
Mmmmmm... pointy Kickback.
The names weren't changed to avoid copyright, they were changed because the words 'Shrapnel' and 'Bombshell' are deemed to be 'tasteless' in these war-bearing times.
Yeah? it doesn't look like hasbro altered it. weird... what is going to happen when some poor kid loses an eye over this!
I already have the E-hobby Diaclone inspired version.....might probably pick up these babies along with TRU Preceptor if and when i see them here in KL stores.
Not necessarily correct.
In a mainline, yes, I doubt you'd see "Bombshell" or "Shrapnel" used. But for re-issues, they've tried to stick to the same names as close as possible. In this case, Bombshell and Shrapnel are most likely copyrighted out to someone else. Kickback they re-trademarked/copyrighted/whatever back in Energon, and have kept the name alive by re-use sporadically.
They couldn't do "Decepticon Bombshell" or "Decepticon Shrapnel", because those names aren't considered "common use" (think "kleenex" ... there's like 20 brands, one officially named kleenex, but we call them all kleenex or tissue).
Dunno the specifics, but it's not safe to say "IT'S TOTALLY THIS WAY" until Hasbro confirms it one way or the other.
Gotta get these guys.
Yeah, fair enough. I can't go off on saying that it's this or that, because there's so many possibilities as to why the names have been altered. However to me, the words Shrapnel and Bombshell give off the vibe of war. I guess we'll wait an see the reasoning behind it all. It'll be interesting for sure
You know, depending on the timing, I may actually be able to pick these guys and Perceptor up for myself this year.
If not, yay Christmas?
And yet we still see the name Landmine on packaging. Of course some names will give off the vibe of war. Its Transformers not My Little Pony.
I am definitely getting these.
Can't wait to get my hands on this set.
Separate names with a comma.
