I had to show off this leg mistransformation.   I like it way better than his tiny stick-on feet.

Paint is still obviously incomplete, but I did two cutting mods I want display. First, I circumsized the cannon. Looks better without the turtleneck if you ask me.  

Second, I cut away the vertical plastic that reaches up to his crotch from the inside of his knees. Yeah, it leaves a gap in the top of the tank mode, but the bot mode looks so much better and the tank doesn't really suffer.

 

Looks pretty cool. Have you done anything with the treads that go on the back?

 

Painted yet? No. But this sucker will be 100% paint when I'm done.

Transformation: I flipped the bottom flap up and forced it to lay flat in between the clear orange arm bits. After doing that I noticed there were pegs and holes all ready to line up with the treads. I had to force it pretty hard to lay flat so I never would have guessed that transformation was official, but the pegs don't lie.

 

I mean, on his back. The ones that are loose and floppy.

 

Yeah. After you force down the flap between the floppy treads, the treads peg into the the flap and no longer flop.

 

That actually looks sooo much better, going to have to try that when I find a Galvatron.

 

So I'm guessing that the little feet are now his heels.

 

Hmph...I have no clue on whether I like this transformation better or not!

I keep going back and forth between this and the stock photo.

I like the paint job so far!

 

Yeah. When he's standing in most poses they fill in that gap at the bottom of his legs. When he's standing in a "back heavy" pose they flip out and add an articulated heel spur for added support.

 

I think I'll try this. I may pick up another to paint.

 

looks nice so far. Seeing as I have yet to find the dang thing still, I dunno if I approve of the new leg transformation yet or not.

 

I like the new feet. You just have to add some color to make it pop a little.

 

Looks kind of cool like this... though does this alternate transformation make him even SHORTER?

The one thing that kept buggin me... I finally figured it out! He has no Decepticon symbol on his chest!

 

Nope. The only things different are that his feet are rotated 180 deg at the ankles and the shins are rotated 180 deg below the knees.

 

Yeah, me too! I just removed his arm badge and will get one for the chest.

 

Well... I did add paint to the new feet. It was just black paint.  

Every rendition of Galvatron 1 I've ever seen has black feet, but you're right. Something more needs to go on down there. I'm thinking of painting the dark gray vertical shin stripes on there and maybe resculpting the feet to look more like Galvatron's shoes.

I'll have to wait till I get Galvi.
The paint job is Hella Sweet.

 

I've never had any problems with my Galvatron falling over. I like mine better because he actually has feet and they look like feet, plus the extra paint apps and such.
