These things still haven't been released yet? With as long as it's taking Hasbro to release these guys, we'll probably never see the Seacons.

Exciting. Aren't they supposed to be out very soon? I thought I remembered January, and if so then they should be with the after Xmas toy reset.

Target is supposed to have an end cap promotion in March with these Universe sets and the Ultra/Scout bonus packs. Knowing Target though, these sets will leak out a month or two in advance.

Woo hoo! Although as a loyal TransFan I must at least have one gripe: I wish they used just a little bit less purple on Scavenger and Long Haul. Other than that, they are awesome!

My personal favorite is Scavenger's "Dying Swan" impression.

    http://tfarchive.com/toys/mistransformed/images/universe_scavenger_walmart.jpg

Well... As requested by Smegs, here's a summary of the story behind those, which will hopefully mark the end of an odyssey that spanned almost two years...

    1) Constructicons were shown at SDCC and OTFCC 2003.
    2) Constructicons and "Overbite w/ Buzzclaw" popped up in a Wal*Mart listing, supposed to come out as Universe Ultra wave 4.
    3) Constructicons were shown at Transformers.com.
    4) Wal*Mart decided to discontinue Universe Ultras (first hinted by Jon Hartman, later confirmed by Kickback).
    5) Hasbro figured that without Wal*Mart, they couldn't sell them.
    6) Hasbro put the Constructicons and Overbite/Repugnus on halt, thereby also putting Universe Ultras on hiatus.
    7) Overbite and Repugnus popped up at Transformers.com, and fans went crazy.
    8) Online retailers (Bill's Toys and Games, Entertainment Earth, Hasbro Toy Shop) started listing the Constructicon two-packs and Overbite/Repugnus (minus Hasbro Toy Shop) as Universe Ultra wave 4, presumably an online retailers exclusive.
    9) Bonecrusher/Scavenger and Overbite/Repugnus surfaced on eBay, from a US seller.
    10) At BotCon 2005, Hasbro displayed the Constructicon two-packs and Overbite/Repugnus in packaging. The Constructicons were listed as Target exclusives, scheduled for a March 2006 release.
    11) At the BotCon panel, Hasbro confirmed that, *IF* Target decided to back out of the deal, they would move back to Hasbro Toy Shop. They would come out no matter what.
    12) Online retailers received a cancellation for their listings due to the Target deal.
    13) Now we got them in packaging with the new "Space Camp" sticker (first seen on the packaging from Lugnutz and Scrapmetal), which basically confirms they're coming out very soon.
    14) Question: Whatever happened to Overbite and Repugnus?

Poor Dev, missing two members and looking like 3 miles of bad roads. Anyway, about time! TF Universe isn't quite dead yet.

If I remember right, they were on display at Botcon. I just kinda figured they'd show up at Target the same time as these other sets.

The way these are packaged makes the product look pretty weak. Long haul looks like a purple square. I wish they would have angled them or soething to make the product look a little more desirable.

Of course I'll still be picking these up. Although the $40 there going to cost is bound to make me wince.

Wishing for the cancellation of a toy one personally dislikes is terribly egoistic. If you don't like them, don't buy them; don't seek to deprive other people of toys they might enjoy.

Truth! From experience I've learned that no matter how 'bad' the Transformer is, there will be a TF Fan somewhere that will love it. I am always a little sad when I uncover pictures on the Net of Transformers that might have been but weren't released for some reason. I like the yellow Walmart set too. The package may say Universe, but this Dev is a part of the RID collection! :D

I will win that space camp. A year ago I would have bought these in a heart beat but I'm still glad they're seeing the light of day finally.
