I just picked him up today (along with the first two G.I.Joe Battlepacks/DVD sets) and was pleasantly surprised to find they painted the Soundwave visor to resemble the goggles he had in the Marvel comics. Was it known the figure would have this detail from testshots/ebays samples? I know the packaging photos and some pics from BotCon had the visor as only being translucent blue. I just find it very, very awesome that Hasbro went out of their way to make Universe Blaster look more like regular Blaster when they really didn't have to. edit: I see they mentioned the "visor/goggle visor" thing on the transformers.wiki. Guess somebody DID know about it.
I noticed it back when we got the official pictures of him. If you look closely enough at his head you can see the painted details. http://www.tfw2005.com/resources/attachment.php?do=fullview&attachmentid=6274 It's an interesting detail, but I've never liked the mold, tbh.
I noticed in the toy box art, the chest door is 'painted' to have that asymmetrical window similar to the Gen 1 toy, but the toy itself does not appear to be like that. (I'm not interested in buying one myself.)
That is a neat touch on Hasbro's part. I wish they'd make a new Blaster mold since the Cybertron Soundwave one is awful.
i agree, blaster deserves an original mold for classics and i just don't think that mold fits in the classic line also.
