Received this guy today in the mail

    bio,

    tech specs

His universe colors are almost bone white, red and blue

    Now to the review,
    Alt mode

Jet colors are very close to the henkei version except the grey is now bone white and the red is a little brighter
A very nice homage to g1 starscream in alt mode
    Bot mode

Bot bode is also a very nice take on g1 screamer warranting a henkei and universe purchase. They are just different enough to justify both.
    Bullet Points,
    Painted face
    [IMG]
    solid red,white and blue colors
darker red and well done details.

For the record this version has VERY tight joints and the launchers fit quite snug in his arms.Makes me wonder what happened to the henkei figures or if they remade the mold.

Very highly recommended when he arrives at retail in December if you find him.:thumb

I'm interested to see if there's any problems with the mold this time around...

There were problems with the Classics Starscream mold? Odd. I remember getting the first Classics Starscream and I didn't have ANY problems whatsoever. Either I'm incredibly lucky or there's something I've missed...

Looks nice, let us know how the quality is compared to other versions of the mold, if it sucks I'll probably be going with Henkei.

Probably refers to mold degradation, like what was found on the Henkei TC & SW or on some Acid Storms.

Oh damn! This is the figure I have been waiting for. When I get this I can paint my current Screamer to TC.

    Looking incredibly forward to tomorrow.

Sorry I meant as in, the mold is degrading. First SS was spot on but recent repaints like Acid Storm and the Henkei Thundercracker / Skywarp have been bobbins.

Ah, so what you're saying is...that the mold just breaks easily or something? I'm sorry to sound like a n00b, I don't understand.

Hasbro uses the same molding over and over again to make figures. In the case of the Seeker mold they've used it several times to make several repaints. This means the mold sees degredation, either it begins to erode in some place, some areas lose the detail, overall the most common side effect of mold degredation appears to be that of looser joints. Becuase the mold gets worse, so do the figures that come from it.

On topic: I love this figure. He looks better than the Henkei version all except for his missing hip/chest details. I may buy him and then swap out the chest section with my Classics screamer. Then repaint what I have left over into a classics T-cracker. A+ to Hasbro. :thumb

I like the figure, and it's a definite buy for me. As much as I was looking forward to a white SS, it's a little too bare bones color wise i think. The red are is just solid red, no yellow or silver highlights, like the empty white "knee" area. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, I just wish there was a little more there, lik ethe henkei one.

looks like they skimped on the paint detail. Very bland. I'll have to change that.

I like how it's a brighter white than the Henkei version, but i wish it had more paint apps. I'll be getting this for sure.

Nice. I can't wait to get one. Now all we need is a Seeker group picture.

Looks worth a purchase, though I might add a touch of paint here or there.

Considering the mould, I'm surprised he's so good-looking to me. His asthetic appeal lies in his simple deco. Nothing flashy, just G1 show SS with the toy's dark blue.
