Universe/classics Cheetor is a figure that got a lot of things right but also got a lot of things wrong. He is highly poseable in cat mode and can pull off some nice (yiff)poses but bot mode suffers because of it.

    Alt mode
    [IMG]
He has a lever that allows his mouth to open and close but cannot stay open (ala Grimlock)
As said previously he has multiple joint on his legs that allow for a variety of poses and stances.
    The big down points are,
a non movable neck and head(one piece)
Some visible joints without a solid beast mode.

    Alt mode
    [IMG]
Can pull off some nice poses but suffers because of the complex transformation.(Impressive for a deluxe)
    The problems with bot mode,
Head is on a limited peg joint and can only look side to side
Arms have some pose-ability but the cat legs are attached to his bot arms and limits his poses.(modding is possible)
Tail becomes a sword and he has two shurikans very similar to prowl's.(attach to his back legs under the thighs)

The backpack is a big problem but is required because of transformation similar to Galvatron.

Although he has issues he is still a rather fun and inventive deluxe figure that is a nice upgrade over the beast war figure.

Recommended for completeist or if you are a cheetor fan but casual fans may want to stay away.

Compared to Beast wars cheetor(yiff). He towers over him by about 3 inches and puts him to shame
    [IMG]
Compared to a taller deluxe.Has about a inch over cyclonus including ears.

I love BW so I'll probably end up picking this up at some point, not a priority though.

Great review. The robot feet are mistransformed though.

Have you tried putting the feet flat in robot mode? I get the impression that's the intention from the Takara photos, and would make the toy a bit less "damn that's tall." (yiff) .

Yeah, the feet look like they can slide into the calves, to make it better proportioned.

I just can't stand how the robot mode looks in pics. Maybe when I get him in person he'll turn out better.

Cheetor seems to be a set back from his mold instead of a step forward.

It's largely an improvement over the original, particularly the Cheetah mode, but probably not enough for me to buy it. The bot mode isn't all that inspiring.

Still, I appreciate the fact that some Beast Wars characters are getting a remake alongside the G1 characters.

It does look better that way too. I just wish the chest could be slid down as to balance out the appearance more.

So - no more Oracle reformats for Cheetor then?

And yeah - I'd like to see a side view pic if possible of the backpack. Your pics don't really convey how big it is.

Got one quick question - can the tail be left where it normally is in beast mode or otherwise stored? (yiff) I'm less than enamored with it as a hand weapon, but it's kinda necessary for the beast mode.

Looking at the toy, I think maybe the biggest failing is the arms, which appear too short to be proportional with the lanky body and legs. If they were longer I think it would help tie the overall look together better for robot mode.

beast mode is great, bot mode is beast machines poor, im suprised that ever got the green light for production.

I feel the main problem lies in the fact that awesome beast mode is rather accurate for a cheetah, but of course a rather spindly (though fast!) feline form isnt the easiest to make into a humanoid bot, unless hes rather scrawny looking, in this case hes not just scrawny (animated blurr is scrawny but looks amazing) but aesthetically a mess. Hes rather the opposite of original cheetor who had a great bot mode and a compromised cat mode.

Still, he could be fun to transform and hopefully kids will like him.

As much as I LOVE Beast wars, Cheetor and the like, I agree. Terrible figure. At first I thought I saw some stuff I liked about him, but no, no redeeming qualities as far as I can see.

BW TM Cheetor is still the best Cheetor figure, IMHO.

    Same Here

I agree with most of the opinions I've seen here and on other websites;even though there is more articulation in beast mode, the robot mode looks like it was an add-on insted of being part of the figure. The only thing I see as a positive is maybe switching heads with the original Cheetor to give the figure a more show accurate look.
