So i recently acquired the wave 2 deluxes, and i'm looking at some awesome seeker repaints done by Spurt Reynolds, and it got me thinking, man Acid Storm would look much cooler with more black on him. And so i decided to do something about it. Here's the end result.

Black chest with gold highlights, repainted the yellow sections gold and sprayed over the blue grey sections black as well. Finished it off with Mr. Hobby Super Clear matte. I think he looks more menacing now.

LOVE it if Hasbro would be releasing THAT it would be top of my list but the Hasbro version doesnt have enough flare

For those requesting alt mode pics, i'll try get some taken tonight, though i didn't really make any striking changes to it. Only the blue grey on the nosecone was painted black, but everything else is still the same, since i already liked the camouflage pattern as it was.

I'm already working on a Sun Storm with my spare SS. With any luck, i'll get it done by the weekend. Taking their legs apart can be such a pain...

Sweet color scheme on this one man. I think I'm with the majority in saying that one of the downsides on the Hasbro version in the blueish grey. Great work! Did you do anything to stop some of the rubbing were you added the black?

Also, I like the camo too but if you do decide to either take it off or do another one to match the cartoon better try the old 99% rubbing alcohol trick. It should take the camo off and keep the green on.

 

Nothing really. The chest hardly has any friction areas, and the thighs haven't had any paint chips yet. Of course, its still in the process of fully curing, and i haven't tried transforming it to jet mode yet. So far, only the rubber part of the nosecone had sticky paint problems, but the varnish fixed that.
