I'm still on the fence with Cheetor. On the one hand, that's one nice cat mode. On the other, I'm not sure about robot mode... it's "spotty" (and I just don't mean the ones on his fur).
agreed, he does give some BW nostalgia feeling from that rather nice cat mode but that bot is weak compared to the arguably better '95 version, had the designers based the new bot on the original version it could have turned out nicer.
I was never into beast wars, but I figured with the quality of figures these days, everything would be worth picking up. I dunno. The Beast Wars Universe figures seem pretty bad so far. I hate the removable tails. The TF:Animated beast characters turned out better.
Anyone know the 25th tag for Beast Wars Series? I'm still very confused about how Cheetor looks to me. He's another on my list of "TFs I need to see in the hands of someone reliable" before I decide for sure whether he's in or out.
I like how every picture of this guy is mistransformed. The back of the package shows his shoulders in the wrong spot. TF08 guys manage to get that right but then can't get the cheetah head in the right spot (on his chest) and the last pics we saw had him all messed up with his back kibble all over the place. And to make matters worse, everyone on every board is judging him based on his mistransformations. I'm willing to throw down 5$ that says most everyone winds up loving or liking this guy once they see a few people TF him right.... It almost always goes this way. Personally, between all of the pics I've seen this mold is awesomesauce and I can't wait for it.
If the final design is exactly like the image, I would like to see it is badly design. It will going to be a shelf warmer. The only worse fear is it will get repaint & partially remold treatment badly. I already think of Tigertron, Shadow panther, Tripredacus Agent already.
