The end result should look a little more like this then-
I'll believe it when I see it. Meantime, I'm fine with my Titanium Cheetor.
Meh. It's still a "stand on hind legs, unfold hands, reveal head" beastformer. Pass.
I don't think there was much doubt that the shoulders were mistransformed, but your photoshop does help display the correct method well... I personally just think the figure is kinda ugly compared to the original for some reason... I remember having the first release and loving it to death. The new one's cheetah mode seems too over-musculated in an attempt to give it better definition than the original...
He does look pretty good. I'm not a Beast Wars fan, but even I'm thinking about getting him. The cheetah mode actually looks worse to me than his bot-mode, and there's something about a bot with ninja star weapons that I like. I'm going to need to see more pictures of him to make a final decision though, and there are a good amount of other figures coming out around the same time as him that are more of a priority to me.
And his face's still sucks. Pass.
I fail to see what's wrong with that. Animated Swoop is one of the best TFs to come out in recent memory and he's the exact same beastformer you mentioned.
I might get it just because it's beastwars, other than that the robot mode looks like crap.
I'm not sure I'll be buying Swoop either. I find it kinda funny that people slated Universe Silverbolt for having a jet on his back, but have no problems with figures that barely transform. Ah well, it's a funny old world.
Nah it still doesn't look right for some reason, the arms look really kibbly and almost too short. I dunno, I like my original Cheetor (rare version I think) So I doubt I'll be picking this one up.
i kinda like him. and i love the beast mode...but i'm just not sure where i'd display him...unless they start doing more beasts as part of the 25th anniversary, he'd just look out of place with classics/universe or with my beast wars display...but maybe if more beasts come out, and they look good, i can add them to my universe...but i dunno...hopefully we see a few more beasts before cheetor hits shelves...
Eh, he's still just okay in my book. I'll probably get him as my 25th one broke. The stand and transform design doesn't really bother me (a lot of beast-formers do this to keep the alternate mode as true as possible), however, the freakin' kitty face is annoying me. I'd have really preferred to see something closer to his animation model's face on the toy...
I think his alt mode looks pretty good. I don't like his shriner hat/head mold in bot mode. I'll probably stick with my Titanium Cheetor.
Agreed. Its the head that puts me off the most.
I originally just figured that it was mistransformed from the beginning...still doesn't matter...even though I loved beast wars when I was in middle school....I lost interest in it...I havent even dug out all the original release beast wars figures out of my parents attic...so I don't think I'll be picking this guy up unless I'm just hard up for my crack...but G1 is the only series for which i'm interested in seeing new molds for old school characters....what I think sucks is all the repaints for voyager class Classics 2.0 is seeing
Swoop is from the awesomeness of TFA, while Cheetor is only from that Beasties crap!
Seriously though what I don't get, is the Classics line is an homage line. Part of that includes how the TF actually transforms. See Silverbolt. Sunny has similar elements to G1, as goes Prowl a good bit, and the Seekers. And many many others.
Yet the person you quote has a problem with Cheetor having a semi-similar TF style, for a line that's full of that theory...yeah...TFans are sure odd.
Still looks like crap to me. Total pass.
that does make it look better and thats sayin alot from me as I HATE Beasties (I dont consider the dinobots Beasties) but think Animated Swoop ROCKS
Still think the waist is a little bit too long.
I'll be buying it.
It's interesting at the very least.
