Tried to dye number #1 in the dye bath, melted. Painted a cardboard box I had laying around with a krylon metallic chrome for a background, kinda shiny.

Then tried to pull off a Shattered Glass black, I didn't do it right,

So flipped it to go full on Universe Style....

    My 2nd radicon!

    Universe Rodimus!

Yeah man the metallics are awesome! What sort of paint did you use to achieve that really full red color? Was he a PITA to diassemble?
Have you thought about adding flames to him?
I really think this looks great!!!

Looks really cool. Paint is nice and smooth. Do you plan on doing his chest flames?

Thanks Spoon! Very proud now, my first Rodimus mold. I love the clear windows on the Classic's, but can't spring for one right now!

    Hahah! It's fun and relaxing!

    Yeaaaaahhhhh Boyyyyyyyy!

    :)

Thanks, the black just didn't flow right and had to change up the paint, thanks sir!

I used what I had the first tie I went shopping,

Primed with Testors 1830m Diamond Dust One Coat, followed by Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red,

First, I dyed the fig with DIT Pearlescent Grey and a little bit of DIT Purple liquid dye, Pearl Grey was powder, purps was a liquid. Then let ir dry a day, and tried to do a suede black, just didn't come out at all, and needed to lighten up the color.

Not at all was this guy tough to disassemble, the only part that was finicky was the Canopy mod, but, the canopy, is connected with one screw under the hood in robot mode, 3 screws for the legs, and thats about it. Oh and the arms when they pull out, those little pieces, they come off, and the hood comes off in a nice small package to do a good job of paint! The second hardest part was remembering how the doors went back in to pin to his legs, but I had another one I could compare to, see how it went back together. No screws loose in his head, (lol) just splits apart!

I wanna clear it, but I don't know what to use because I have bad luck with clear due to yellowing from UV Rays. So need to find a good lacquer clear paint that works well... If im really gentle, no fingerprints yet hehe.

Flames, I hope soon! I really like that WildRider style of flames alot! I think Im going to try to print one and cut it out with an exacto to make a template.

Truthfully, if you look close you can still see the original BiS flames on the hood, so I could trace that easily with a small brush, but I don't know what color to do it with!

Thanks Stee.....I mean ServO! We need to get together and talk paint man!

    Thanks!

Flames soon, I really really love that WildRider style of flames! I think Im going to try to print a good profile pic of WildRider and cut out the flames with an exacto blade to make a template. Im going to try to transform it soon with the yellow spoilers.

I like the added contrast that the yellow spoilers give it...It kind of gives you an idea of how the car would look overall if the yellow of the spoilers continued forward on the body of the car with a similar yellow flame...It would look even more intense if the yellow was a metallic.
Yeah we can def. get together sometime and BS about this stuff!
