I know this might sound repetitive to some of you, but the last time the topic came up, everyone was talking about different things, and so no-one had a clue what the other one was trying to say.

    So:

Last August, the first wave of Energon Basics repackaged on "Universe" cards was available from Family Dollar stores, later also from Dollar General and Ocean State Job Lot stores. The wave consisted of: Windrazor, Arcee, "Strong Arm" (actually the "Energon Strongarm" repaint), Doom-Lock, Perceptor and Insecticon.

Last October, there was a wave of Energon Deluxes repackaged on "Universe" cards available from Big Lots, later also from Tuesday Morning stores. The wave consisted of: Storm Jet, Steamhammer, Barricade and Sharkticon.

This July, four more "Universe" Basics popped up in sample packaging, seen at a Chinese auction site. The toys were: Wideload, Terradive, Signal Flare and Energon Saber.

Now, an auction from a US seller might indicate that his wave has been released. The auction features Wideload, Energon Saber and Treadshot, the latter of whom hasn't been among the samples from the Chinese auctions. Chances are the wave might also feature a sixth, at this point still unknown, Basic.

This is true, they are indeed out there. Only yesterday did we unpack this assortment for our Christmas toys at Dollar General (Beaumont, Texas) at $5 a piece. I'm still trying to figure if I already got all of them when they were Energon toys.

Terradive, Treadshot, and the Energon Saber are on my list, hopefully Bonecrusher or Sky Shadow is among them... (I'm going to have a Universe Superion instead of an Energon one at this rate.) Guess I'll have to remember to look sometime.

I don't suppose these will be available in major chain retail stores... ie, Toys R Us, Target, Walmart...?

From the original post, it sounds like these will be stuck to places like Big Lots? I'm working on my 5th beer right now, so maybe I missed something. But I'd actually like some of these... I missed a bunch that I want - the Energon Saber in particular.

Any chance you could tell us which toys exactly are included in this wave?

First, about mass retail, no, they will only show up at Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc. However my Family Dollar has received three shipments of the first wave. Two were at about the same time, but the third came almost a year later(now). Second, Yay! They're out. Now for getting the money. :redface2:

I stopped at a Dollar General this morning, and found Universe/Energon basics Energon Saber (didn't get), Terradive, Treadshot, and Wideload. So, if you are waiting to get these guys, they are in stores now. Happy hunting!

No pics available, so it's unconfirmed for now, but last week at Seibs somebody apparently found the entire wave 2 of Universe basics, and the last figure to complete the wave was Cruellock, rather than one of the combiner limbs.

My Family Dollar stocked up stuff for Christmas already, but the Universe toys were picked clean - just an Insecticon and a Spychanger Optimus Prime.

EDIT: Linkage, for Nevermore or the two other people that seriously care. ;)

In that link you ask about Cruellock, he's just like the normal release. This one.

You misread my post. I was requesting pics because nobody's been able to confirm Cruellock is rereleased in this second wave of Universe. I know he was just talking about a normal Cruellock and not some new repaint or variation.

You're welcome, even if I'm late to the party.
