Nothing much to show yet. The camera phone is all I have on me.

Anyway, I've got no problem with Prowl being a "not Nissan 350z", but I just don't like the particular design of not 350z they ended up giving him. So I'm re sculpting. This mold probably won't ever be a 350z, so I'm not going for accuracy. I just want a better "not a 350z". :D

    Hood rounded off.
    Spoiler cut down.
    Headlights triangularized.

This is all rough so far. But I'll keep this updated.

It looks like the hood vent got filled, the bottom/ middle part of the headlights got sculpted/ added to match the Z350 headlights and front bumper got dremeled and resculpted to match the Z-350 smooth form. The spoiler looks shorter as well. The only thing it needs to be a perfect Z350 is the front airvents, but it look mighty impressive, as it currently is, to me.

So, I ended up removing all of the old putty and starting the sculpt all over again. This time with better putty. I'm much happier now. Obviously the shape isn't smoothed or detailed yet, but the rough outline is in.

In addition, the spoiler is now gone because it breaks up that nice curved shape too much.

The light bar is also gone because I'm pretty sure I'm going civilian with this one. I'm just not feeling a Z as a police car. If I go civilian, I'll put a badge on his 'bot arm.

It already looks better so far, and without the spolier, it looks closer to the comic. Nice work, I anxiously await to see the finished product

'cept we've seen real photos of a Z police car, and the Z is the modern heir of the Fairlady? but I do like the spoiler gone, and glad you have good putty now.

The tint is just paint. The windows themselves are cast in crystal-clear plastic. Take your solvent of choice and (carefully) go at it.

Anyway, sorry for the delays in finishing this guy. Sculpt is now done. Primer is on. I just have to hit up the hobby store for some varnish spray paint.

    I used Polly S "ELO" Easy-Lift-Off.

You just dip a Q-tip into the solvent, rub the Q-tip over the window paint (not vigorously, just enough to deposit a layer of solvent), wait 10-20 seconds, wipe clean with a paper towel, and repeat.

Words of warning: This stuff won't harm the plastic just sitting there on a smooth surface like the windshield, but IT WILL EAT THE PLASTIC INTO TINY PIECES if it gets into joints, crevices, etc. Anything with a sharp corner/thin space for it to seep into is disaster.

The good news is that it has to sit on the plastic for like a minute before harm is done.

So I make sure the solvent never sits for more than 20 seconds before I wipe it off even if I don't think I got any in a crevice anywhere. And I always soak the whole toy under a fast-running faucet immediately after every pass of the paper towel.
