I was just curious if anyone's aware of how you can tell if a Uni 2.0 Starscream is a KO or not? Is there a way to tell from the packaging?

Are there even K.O.'s in the Universe 2.0 color scheme? I've only ever seen them in Henkei colors.

Yeah, outside of the CHMS knock offs (which are clearly marked CHMS instead of TakaraTomy), Seeker KO's are pretty blatant.

I thought so too, until I found this: Transformers KO Classics Universe Deluxe Starscream Figure | eBay

So, is it possible that this is a legit Starscream and the seller just thinks it's a KO?

Also, on an unrelated topic, your sig makes me chuckle every time I see it. :thumbs2:

The KO costs thirty bucks? Jesus, how much does the actual version sell for?

It's either that or the eBay seller will send a totally different figure and not the one pictured.

So, is there a way to tell what's a knock off and what's not? Because it seems as though the packaging is even the same, right down to where the tape is on the box.

The Decepticon symbols on the wings are a bit off.

    Compare this:

    Shmax.com: Product Information - Starscream

(actually, this is better since it is a larger image)

    http://www.shmax.com/img/transformers/large/9000/9428.jpg?1330525630

to the photo in the auction.

Looking around the crest area, the lines on the KO are too thick. On the legit version, the lines are razor-thin whereas on the KO, they're a bit thicker. Also, the eyes on the symbol are a little different (too "squinty") on the KO (almost look movie-style but not quite).

Also, another thing I noticed on the KO Starscream (and the KO Acid Storm he has up for sale), is that one of the missiles is packaged upside-down.

Transformers KO Classics Universe Deluxe Acid Storm Figure | eBay

    vs.

Shmax.com: Product Information - Acid Storm

Could just be random, but both of the KO packages have the same missile upside-down, so it could be true for all of them.

Browsing on eBay, every legit Acid Storm and Starscream have their missiles packaged right-side up, so this might a quick way to distinguish KO from legit.

Yes the did make a reproduction/KO Universe Starscream and Acid storm. It is near identical to the original. I head some are packaged with the launchers backwards, but not always.

    Ebay:
CHMS is haphazard at best when it comes to the Logo on their KOs. Sometimes it's Takara-Tomy, other times it's CHMS. Least the Ramjet I got from KOToys a while back had the Takara logo.
