Astrotrain would make the perfect Blast-off.

Maybe even go with an Armada Cyclonus and mod it to become Vortex. That way the limbs are consistent with each other in scale.

The only issue i see is Onslaught. He just doesnt fit to me.

    I'd go with

    Movie Brawl
    Astrotrain
Modded animated Swindle(Hound would work too)
Cyclonus is the best bet unless you use FAB Blackout.

I liked the suggestions Tamo 536 made except I don't mind using the universe onslaught for this one. If you are wondering if one character works or not, take a look at one I tried my hands at and see if you like the size comparisons:

I had a hell of a lot of fun figuring him out and I wish the best of luck to you.

Let me know if you are doing the Unicron Approach or not. I'd love to see some ideas on how to combine these guys like what L_K did here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-general-discussion/214337-custom-bruticus.html

I just can't understand people mixing in movie toys with classics toys and not seeing the major clash in styles that wreck uniformity of a "team". Besides, if someone is making a Universe custom, how does a Universe toy not fit?

Chalk it up to personal preference. I totally see your point but I didn't mind using movie line so long as it resembles universe. That's why I swapped out heads and arms because they were way off like you pointed out.

I'd use Universe Onslaught as himself for this project, he's the right size in comparison to your other choices. I also support Armada Cyclonus for Vortex, however, you will need to make some major articulation upgrades on that figure, it sucks pretty much.

True. Also I would consider making the minicon (forgot his name) a permanent part of the nose. looks more like a "real world" military chopper that way IMO.

Here's what I'm using (here are my WIP threads in Heavy/Scratch here):

    Onslaught - Universe Onslaught

    Brawl - Classics Megatron (2-pack/tank)

    Brawl (update - 2.0) - Classics Megatron (2-pack/tank)

    Blast Off - Classics Astrotrain

    Swindle - Universe Hound

Vortex - Cybertron Buzzsaw & Energon Barricade

I haven't posted any WIP pics of Bruticus yet and I haven't done many mods to Onslaught, so there aren't any pics of those. Just thought I'd share in case you were curious about which figures to possibly use and how they might work out.

I think it can be done, so long as the proper mods are made.
