i got this toy, absolutely loving it (screw that he has only arm movement for articulation, it is a cool toy, very tall and looks great! and kickass jet mode) but i have a delma, where does he go? i am thinking of putting him on the g1 shelf, where he would fit, but while he is a g1 mold he is not a g1 release, so by line he goes with my A/E/C shelf (aka the catch everything shelf), but look wise because of the mold he fits in with g1.....what do you guys think? or should he just become my desk toy
main problem is i don't have enough universe 1.0 to make a shelf (got about 4), same for RID (outside of the predacons)....and his design really don't fit with A/E/C toys...i'm thinking he is gonna end up in limbo along with my "classics" big daddy and movie 1 target air raid if i ever started a machine wars collection (like i want to) it would fit in perfectly, except that machine wars starscream really makes him pointless.....i guess another autobot would be good for the team
FYI,You can give that toy spreading leg articulation. all you have to do is take out the plastic piece that is preventing the lower legs from seperating more. just un-screw the lower in legs then remove the plastic piece. losen up the screws in the lower waist area of the main body. to all the upper hips joints to spread out.
He was retroactively made by the Club to be a UT/AEC Character from their made-up planet, Combatron. However, since he's a Universe toy, a G1 mold, and an homage to Dai Atlas, I just consider him to be Dai Atlas with an upgraded/changed body. G2 Dai Atlas, if you want.
I'd personally put him at the back of the Classics shelf. AEC he'd fit in with though as he's a part of their expanded universe.
I'm on the hunt for this particular one, and luckily I have a separate 'Universe 1.0' section where he'll live along Micromaster Devs, Desert Ruination, Ratchet, yellow Basic Prime, etc.
Would put him back in the box and display him. To keep him white. Plus the art's kinda cool. While letting the package double as a back row shelf to elevate the back figs so the front row does'nt block them. Or stand him up with MW Starscream and use them for rear corner column bots.
He's an homage to Dai Atlas, so he could go on a G1 shelf just fine, being a G1 mold anyway. But if you don't really have any other Zone characters, I'd say throw him in a catch-all spot.
yup... that's what i do too... just pulled him out recently so i could get him displayed again... i think he looks cool with modern figures... but i do have larger figures towards the back anyway, so its just easier to hide his legs and lack of pose-ability.
He's a G1 (euro) mold, and a G1 (jap) character, so I'd put him with G1. He's too blocky to fit elsewhere
I put mine in my sales thread a couple of months ago and sold him. It was a OK figure, but it just didn't fit in with my collection any more. I would be hard pressed to put it with the Classics/Gen stuff given the limited articulation and that it's a repaint from an old old line. I'd go with whom ever said to put it on the catch all shelf, that seems like the best place for most of the Universe 1.0 figures to go.
I have him displayed with Micron Legend Jetfire (Galaxy Shuttle), Armada Overload (Road Fire), Cybertron Wing Saber (Sonic Bomber), Universe Countdown, TFTM Mudflap (Erector) and assorted mini-cons. Makes for a really nice looking classics-Zone display
