This is my custom United Megatron with G1 Silencer, Stalk, stand, and gun carry case.

I held off on buying the "nerf" Hasbro Megatron, and I was on the fence about Henkei Megatron of the same mould which seemed SLIGHTLY more tolerable. But when I saw the United Voyager Megatron, I was sold!

His "M. Bison" face aside, I really love his helmet the best of any incarnation of Megatron so far in terms of resembling G1 Megatron's look from the anime.

I started with the popular modification to allow his "wings" to detach in robot mode (fully re-attachable in gun mode).

Then I did some minor paint mods, including painting red in the appropriate places (bicepts, side torso, etc..) as well as painting over reds that shouldn't have been there (forearms). I also painted the backs of his exposed knees black, and detailed him in various places with a gundam marker. Most noteable was detailing his black crest (eyebrows).

I purchased some genuine G1 Megatron parts from ebay with the idea of making them fully functional with United Megatron. Parts I purchased included the silencer assembly, the gun stalk stabilizer/extender, and an extra segment of the stalk extender to give him a little more functionality when used by an adult-sized bearer in gun-mode.

Like his G1 toy counterpart, the extra pieces make him a bit of a parts-former by nature. So he has a few options on how he assembles and disassembles in different ways for bot or alt modes.

I also purchased a really "good" knock-off G1 megatron for kitbashing the gun barrel (for the silencer to fit over) and the receptor pieces that allow the gun stalk extender to attach. In bot mode, the gun barrel attaches to his back to give him a more G1 look. And United Megatron's wings can combine with the silencer/stalk to form an "Ultimate Weapon" cannon for Megatron to man and fire himself! No pieces are wasted in either mode! (custom-cut notches in the G1 stalk were made so Megatron's "wings" could snap onto the stalk in the cannon accessory mode securely).

I added a jewel to the front of the cannon, a little homage to the jewel Megatron had the Stunticons steal for an ultimate weapon (which the Autobots replaced with a fake, and delivered to Megatron disguised as Stunticons). Also added a viewing monitor sticker to the back of the trigger for Megatron to use as an aiming sight.

The overall result is a bigger, badder, Reformatted G1-style Megatron. Though I use the same parts from the G1 toy, the resulting custom is much more rock solid in gun mode even with all the extensions, compared to the actual G1 toy.

I also added a tripod stand for display (and can be used as a sniping tripod attachment, or an extra grip for gun mode). And I added a custom carrying case to hold Megatron in gun mode along with all his accessories. The case features a detachable Decepticon Symbol which can be positioned upside down depending on if you want to use the case as a display base, or prop it upright as a display background.

Also, he bears a sword I took from fansproject Optimus Prime trailer weapon set, as well as a hand gun rifle (not pictured) from Classics deluxe Megatron/Optimus 2-pack which he can hold as well, and plugs into the gun stalk in alt mode. I have the ball-and-chain mace from Animated Swoop to use as Megatron's mace, but I have yet to paint it and add LED lighting to the inner chamber (which will glow through the translucent parts of the mace!) I'll post pics once I have an update for that.

I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking. Hope you enjoy!

Saw this in person at Cybcon, and it's even cooler to see how all the parts work together. And the case is just boss.

I made this custom right about the same time Hegemon came out, so waited a while to debut it cuz Hegemon sorta stole my thunder, lol. Honestly, though, I like this better than Hegemon for some reason. I like all the generations/henkei/united figs as reformatted G1 toys. Hegemon is a good straight G1 toy (not reformatted), though his bulky legs, odd shoulder arm joints, and wrist-brace instead of gunstalk sorta bother me. I do like Hegemon's face better than this though.
