Even though I have a Generations one, I still want a United one.

I'm sure he'll be around since most people we stick with the Generations one.

Exactly. And it came out six months ago so I already have it. Maybe if the United one had a different color scheme I'd get it.

Generations. Cheaper for basically the same toy.

The differences are minuscule. You'd be paying $30 for golden nipples.

I don't see a big enough difference between the two to justify spending another $30+ to upgrade a toy I already own.

Now in the case of Jazz, where the differences are significant I have been leaning towards upgrading to the United one.

since I already own the generations Drift, so I'll stick to that one. As for the other ones, e.g. Jazz & tracks, I'll probably buy the united version.

Depends.... do you display in robot or vehicle mode? If vehicle mode, then United, for the pretty snow-white car. If robot mode, then Generations, for the darker and more contrasty robot mode. This is not one of those figures where the Hasbro and Takara versions are radically different, so you're probably safe with either one.

Ask yourself if the difference in price between the two could be better put to some other use.

    If not, go United.

I have the Generations one, but I still want the United one. The colors and paint apps look like enough of an improvement for me to want it. But it's low on my United priorities list. There's other United figs I wanna get before I go for United Drift. If you don't already have Generations Drift, and don't mind spending the money on the United version, I'd say go for the United. If the price bothers you, go for Generations. The differences are fairly minimal.

Not enough of a paint difference imo to warrant the increase in price.

I'm going United with 90% of the new figs...but I just don't see much of an improvement in the TakaraTomy Drift over the Hasbro in this case. I'm not liking the "golden nipples" especially. But your mileage may vary. I like the fact that the Hasbro is off-white in tone, to help make him stand out when standing near super white figs like United Jazz and Henkei Prowl.
