Is the plastic on the United Autobot Drift the same as the pinkish white plastic on United Jazz? I'm just gauging if it's worth it to buy the United version over the Hasbro one with the Hasbro one slowly creeping up in price.

The Hasbro one's creeping up in price? I can still find him in stores (not that he's a shelfwarmer, but Wave 2 Generations seems to get restocked rather frequently).

He's not in any of the stores around here. I'm seeing him go for $30 plus on eBay. eBay's not a good indicator, I know.

He is the same white as United Jazz. Note that the white only looks pinkish under certain lighting. Henkei Prowl used the same white as well.

    Ebay:
have both but prefer the united one, the differences are subtle but enough to justify the higher price for me

United Drift is a lot nicer than the Hasbro one.

I'm thinking of getting a second United one to sticker up with the Reprolabels. Those are really nice.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking about the United one too because it's $32 on BBTS but I'm not sure about that pinkish plastic. Maybe if I can find a Kohl's around here...

    Uh, we're talking about Drift.

But only in mostly subtle ways that aren't really worth spending an extra ~$30 on. Not as much as say, United Tracks.

Not that Generations Drift is a particularly unattractive off-white.

    *shrug*

Not that it's my call whether you want to spend an extra $30 on a slightly different colour of white plastic.

I'm not getting where this whole pink plastic thing for Jazz is coming from. I have United Jazz, in fact I'm looking at him right now, and he is as white as the driven snow. Pure white without even the slightest suggestion of pink. I have United Drift and he is as glorously pristine in his whiteness as Jazz is.

Depends on what lighting you've got him under. Under natural light, yeah, they're pretty white looking. Under fluorescent bulbs or such, there's a very slight pink-ish tinge.

Yeah he's more pure white than the off-white of the Generations one.

The whiter white looks really nice in person. But the subtitle change isn't as worth it as the changes some of the other United guys have.

I used to think that, until I had the opportunity one day to hold the Generations and United Drifts side by side, one in each hand. The difference between the two in person is stunning. Generations looks like a KO compared to the United version.

I own both and agree. The United one is really nice and worth it if you don't mind shelling out for that particular deco.

I bought the generations version first and decided it's a nice enough version to pick up. The united versions of Drift and Blurr. Color improvements were worth it!
