Does the United Drift have the same rubbery swords as the Classics version?
^exactly the same toy and hence same type of soft weapons, Im affraid.
and FYI the only difference are some minor paint apps on his face and the color of the plastic used. seems whiter compared to the Classics version.
Oh, and if you want a Drift Sword that isn't soft and rubbery, you will need to shell out $100+ for the Maketoys Battle Tanker G2 RTS Prime Add-On kit, but only if you bought the 'First Edition version'. Hope this might help you answer your question.
>_> I don't know why people assume that the Genkei/Henkei stuff is anything different than the hasbro release. It is the same shit, just diffrent paint... and even then sometiems there isn't much difference.
That's what I was afraid of. But that first edition of the trailer doesn't have the ammended prime head. Oh well, can't have your cake and eat it too.
I'm asking because I wanted to know if the rubbery sword issue was a US safety thing, you know like how the 84 and 85 Japanese versions had shooting launchers unlike our neutered versions.
But if you order the first edition through BBTS, it does come with the new head.
Henkei Hot Shot was much different than the Hasbro one.
There are a couple of Drift inspired swords on the various shapeways stores: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/creative-general-discussion/432018-master-shapeways-store-list.html
There are also a number of swords that would work with drift, or anyone who has a 5 mm peg hole.
Actually, there are some exceptions to this...
...and there you go.
Thanks for the link! will get a real sword for my Drift.
