I like the red sword they gave him. I may have to bite one this, but not as excited here as I was for Grand Galvatron (who was sold out and I never got T.T). Still tempted even though I'm 3/5s the way of the Hasbro set.

Honestly, I'm getting this set ONLY for that UW Ratchet.

That was my initial intent.

After giving some thoughts, I'll keep that UW Sky Lynx too & just offload my CW version, along with the rest of the limbs for Lynxmaster.

 

The additional paint apps alone pushed me to this set (well, Ratchet too). Very glad on the inclusion of a factory painted Ratchet over getting another Prowl in cosplay. That Prowl head will get only one use in Unite Warriors and I'm happy to see Takara agrees.

Sorry guys... you were okay at the time, just not good enough any more.


It's too bad he's a pricier TT Mall set when Computron with more done still manages regular price. Whatevs... I must have my Unite Warriors.

 

So let me see if I got my facts correct...

Sky Lynx is from the JG1 continuity.
Hound is from the JG1 continuity.
Trailbreaker is from the JG1 continuity.

Which means...

Wheeljack and Ratchet are the Binaltech versions of the originals that died prior to the 2005 attack on Scramble City.

A part of me is regretting the fact that I do not plan to own any combiners if what I said is correct.  

 

Wasn't Wheeljack still around after his supposed death in the Japanese G1 continuities?

Im surprised no-one has translated the comic. The Grand Galavtron was fan-translated almost straight away.

I think he means 'translated with the english text placed in the comic', which is what i've been waiting for too....  

On topic, i like the Ratchet, but after buying the USA version of Sky Lynx I've decided NOT to get any other versions of it. Not the best combiner torso out there :/

 

After deliberating on UW Lynx Master, Im kinda thinking of picking him up now...
The effort in TT giving the moulds EXTRA, beautiful paint apps is just too darn difficult to resist..

I'm guessing it's "Autobot Special Mission Combiner Lynxmaster".

 

The Sky Lynx in that STGCC has his front feet upside down. I'm trying to figure out if there's an advantage to that.

I haven't been following Takara Sky Lynx much, but have they improved the mold any, or is it just a new coat of paint? In particular, did they add the tiny amount of plastic needed to prevent the see-through stomach?

 

I admit, I'm also getting this set just for the UW Ratchet figure. But I do also like the looks of Trailbreaker and even Wheeljack is growing on me with the extra (and much needed) paint apps. Still really "meh" on Sky Lynx since I was not at all impressed with the Hasbro version and his QC issues. Still, I'm still undecided though if I'm going to keep everything in the set to keep it complete or piece it out.

 

We won't know for sure until it's released, but there's no indication that Takara's Sky Lynx is any different or improved over the Hasbro version.

Yuki shows off the production copy of Lynx Master via the TF_pr Twitter account.

Releases at the end of the month.

 

I can't wait for this guy to drop. I already have CW Smokescreen and Sky Lynx, looking forward to having the UW Deluxes and another Sky Lynx. Then I'll just be waiting on UW Megatronia and the other 3/5 of TCSS Wreckage and I'll be done with Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors.

Until they announce Abominus or Predaking anyway. Or Piranhacon. Which would give me a grand total of 14 Combiners!  

 

I really hope Hasbro brings that Ratchet to the US

 

You and me both. I don't need the other parts and I really hope Ratchet better not be the only one of the "exclusives" to not make the single-card boat.

 

I figure Ratchet is on the short list for May Mayhem 2017 with UW Blastoff and maybe TR Optimus Primal and Megatron (BW) - similar to the eHobby exclusive w/some minor differences, perhaps. No other obvious options yet (UW Nosecone and Strafe seem less likely to me than Blastoff or Ratchet, but ymmv).
