I'm going to ask a dumb question. Why is devy $40 cheaper at HLJ ? I would cancel my bbts order and go with hlj.

 

Shipping from HLJ should negate any savings over BBTS. Amazon Japan is your best bet.

QUESTION:
Is true that UW Devy is much articulated than CW Devy? Like Hasbro went a cheap-ass move lessening CW Devy's articulation?
What part or area of the mold that got nerfed by Hasbro?

 

All the individual Constructicons have elbow joints on the Takara version but the Hasbro ones do not. Next to that the Takara one has some different/extra paint applications (purple hands for Devastator!) and a retractable visor.

Devastator himself doesn’t have any different/more articulation as far as I know.

Personally, I was really invested in the Takara one but didn’t think the changes warranted the price for me - I mostly display him as Devastator anyway in which mode I feel the changes don’t mean too much. Either way the Takara one is without a doubt better.

Hmmm so looks like, I might get the Takara version. Kinda expensive than Predaking a bit but, added articulation and retractable visor seems a premium treat.

Some said to me, to avoid the SDCC version... Something about the chest piece and headsculpt while accurate, the visor is mostly common Devy sports throughout G1.

 

Hasbro released CW earlier, "maybe" it gave more time for TT to improve on the existing molds. Too lazy to confirm with links and proof. Personally, I like the UW one better since the difference for me is not that big. Some people have large shipping issues to factor in so it is understandable. If you can get UW Devy for $20 or $30 more, I think to me it is worth it with the elbows and guns.

Not sure about the SDCC version, never had it, the chrome purple is too weird for me.

 

For me are the best news I could receive in these last months!So happy,I had waited too much to buy an UW Devastator to add my current CW version and I was even ready to these expensive prices just for Constructicons this Autumn, but now everything changes   . Dark grey on Scrapper face renders his visor more sinister,very good, and colouring on his lower part of body and on whole Long Haul robot are much better than Hasbro besides with additional joints on Constructicons this boxset is so worthy.Very impatient to receive mine and then,Mixmaster alternate cab with Takara painting keeps G1 feeling at least for thinking and is very decent from the front view, but remains the weakest Constructicon in vehicle mode.

Ok. Thanks guys. Upon researching on comparison, I'm settling to get UW Devy within this year. Those extra joints on individual bots, individual weapons, retractable visor and G1 colors. Expensive it maybe but it's warranted.

 

Just FYI, it's roughly $55-65 cheaper and includes shipping to pre-order through Amazon Japan than the $225 from the usual U.S. online retailers. And supposedly it takes 3 days to ship through DHL.

Hasbro didn't nerf their version, Takara just made their own version better and had more time to do so.
