Just tested the joints on mine. Waist ratchet was working the first couple of turns, then stopped working. I'd say I got two turns to each side before it just stopped clicking. Fantastic.
Hips are still working fine, not going to push my luck at this point.
Also, I have two wiper blades.
Like Emgo, I'm not to upset about the hip ratchet. I can't see a situation where I'd really need it to ratchet other than some extreme poses but, even in that case, the waist still stays pretty much put via friction. Whether that will remain to be the case once he's got the added weight of arms we'll have to wait and see. That being said, I wouldn't hate a fix. And, based on this and others' experiences, I fully expect the hip ratchets to fail at some point in the future, and that's definitely a bigger deal.
Agree with @cj37a that a fix from UT is in order.
I can't get past the ugly individual limb bots on Zeta's. But agree that, if their construction is anywhere near the build quality of Constructor, it will be hands down the best in that department.
I'm still ok with my choice to go with UT since the team will rarely be in combined mode anyway. But it really sucks that UT can't get a basic thing like ratchets right.
I have Ordin as well (my profile picture ) and the hips ratchets broke after a few back and forth movement... The friction holds him without problems, but it's a shame... The plastic they used on the ratchets is too brittle for the job!
It would be interesting to see what broke inside Onslaught hips, will it be the gear or the pawl?
Well, Emgo's review had me paranoid so I double checked mine. Hips are tight but working. No clicks on the waist, and to be honest I can't recall if it ever did it if I always thought it was friction. I'm really not bothered about that; who needs a ratcheted waist swivel? I hope the hips aren't destined to fail, though.
For the record, the hips and knees on my Ordin are fine, although I had to remove the springs from the connector pegs in the knees.
Well they are to be delivered tomorrow. On Valentine’s Day I’m getting a big box with three figures. It never fails. Good thing I’m taking my wife out shopping tomorrow and getting her a hour long massage lol
Comparison pics of Ragnaros and Ordin in combined mode?
Oh god. My Onslaught’s right leg ratchet stopped working...
Just for anyone who is annoyed at the limited neck extension of Onslaught, you can gain better range of motion if you unscrew his head and put it back on backwards. The only downside is the "front" of the neck has a gap now in the front and a molded circle that you see if he looks up.
I just tightened that screw so much with brute manpower that I totally just stripped the screw... Jesus. I want to fucking flip a table. At least it’s as tight as a ratchet now. I am no way ok with this... I guess I’m not going to get the rest of the set... Except for maybe vortex as a stand-alone
Sorry to hear that man.
Onslaught is supposed to have a ratcheted waist? Mine isn’t clicky, but none of my other robots have clicky waists either, so it’s not something I think I’ll miss.
Waist Ratchet: After looking inside again it seems the tooth that hits the waist ratchet just broke off. I don't see how it wouldn't of have since it has no way to bend. That should of been a spring ratchet or some bend in the tooth base. It really isn't a functioning ratchet anyway Plenty of friction there.
No show stoppers; still like the figure.
Man I can’t even mess with Onslaught tomorrow to see what the fuss is about. Damn
You mess with it too much, it’ll break on you. If UT provides fixes to these problems on another figure, it isn’t even worth it for me, as these screws are totally stripped. I tried to take apart the leg with the ratchet working to see if I could fix it, but the screws are stuck in there...
No show stoppers.
Your waist ratchet will give out. You may have to align the forward and back hip/thigh ratchets as shown in my original post. Knee ratchets or outer thigh ratchets would sucks if they gave out, but I haven't had such an issue.
Like the other figures, it just looks like it walked out of the show and is a lot of fun to pose and play with.
Looking forward to the Bruticus mode while thinking how to Sunbow him up with foil tape or something. Might save that for Zeta.
Some combine mode size comparisons:
With UW Devastator:
With the JuJiang OS CW Superion. I took Superion's arms off just to give it a bit of a fair comparison:
With UT Ordin. I tried connecting Ordin's arms to Ragnaros but his connector ports were a bit too thick for the arms to fit:
YES!! My seller went rogue. That way I can get a fixed version.
