Hey guys, got Mania King in yesterday and thought I would share a couple quick photos. This figure is really nice. The detail is good, the finish is very good, Head Mold is excellent in my opinion and the Alt mode is very cool looking (though a bit tricky the first time through). Overall I think this is one of the best 3rd Party Pieces to come out yet. I'll post some better photos later as these are pretty dark, but Enjoy!

Sorry guys, I forgot too mention this is the test version. The actual version should have some of the items you guys mentioned fixed.

Why are the waist flaps a different shade of purple than the rest of the figure? The purple on the waist flaps is what the color of the figure should be.

Appreciated, but should probably just be posted in the ManiaKing thread. Also, wouldn't hurt to resize the photos, they're about 3 times bigger then they need to be.

He sure is sparkly, isn't he?

I'm going to guess they're close to the same, but photograph differently because one is colored plastic, the other is paint.

This also appears to be the test shot version, not the final one.

Watch Peaugh's review. He's missing a lot of the silver detailing.

The hands, though, why would they do the hands like that?

I see that... the clear orange instead of gold as well. I'm curious where the OP ordered from. Are there 2 versions of this guy being distributed?

That would be the discussion thread, this is a feedback thread, two different things.

Dude, thanks for the review. The pics are great, but they're too big. My internet is pretty fast, yet the first page took a while to completely load.

I love this figure. It represents Galvatron awesomely. Great quality, easy transformation. The only downside is the lack of orange on the cannon, which as a customizer myself I can fix. This is worth the money.

This is my first purchase from Unique Toys and he did not disappoint me. I _HATE_ the wrist thing, it's probably my biggest pet peeve when it comes to any Transformer, so I was majorly on the fence about whether to plunk down the cash or not but ultimately after watching a couple of reviews I decided to go for it anyway. While I think better designed wrists would have kicked this guy up a couple notches for me he's still an awesome figure. The transformation is very neatly done and not nearly as fiddly as some others I've seen and the end result is very nice looking.

The bot mode is where this guy shines as he simply oozes character and I can really see the sort of misguided anti-hero thing that IDW was going for whilst also easily picturing him as a downright sinister guy if he wants to be. Mania King has a really great silhouette with very little kibble (none really that isn't integrated nicely into the aesthetic) that when you look at it has such nice curves and detail that you wouldn't guess it would turn into the solid looking cannon form.

The cannon form turns out very nice and I love the way the legs and part of the arm canon turn into such a nearly perfect tube. He feels pretty solid if light weight for his size. Not much to say about it except it achieves the desired result nicely. I was a bit concerned with the chest and head part but honestly the chest folds up out of the way quite well and the head can be transformed a little different from how the instructions suggest to get it up higher into to the body of the cannon so it has better ground clearance.

As for negatives, I do wish that the canon form could pivot up/down some but as other reviewers have pointed out he's not designed that way and instead just points straight forward. I don't think it's a huge deal really as he's largely a display piece for me and looks really slamming otherwise. Given the design and transformation I can see how the tilt would have been fairly difficult to incorporate but I'm thinking it wouldn't have been impossible. The lack of wrist swivels, on the other hand, is almost more upsetting once you see how great the rest of this figure is. In this case I honestly look at it and feel like they could have put in a wrist joint fairly easily so I can only guess that either it wasn't strong enough or didn't make the final product as a cost saving measure. Maybe I'm wrong and it is impossible, who knows. Lastly, yeah I would have preferred a translucent cannon barrel but again I'm not really hung up on it either way.

Upgrades for 3rd party products are pretty rare and I think Mania King is getting a more critical reception overall than he deserves but I would love to see an upgrade kit appear that offers fixes to some or all of the issues I listed. I'd drop money on it in a heartbeat to make an already good figure great.

In closing, I do think the price is a little heavy for the size of this guy but if you're a Galvatron fan and/or really like space-age artillery then this is the toy for you. He's really great looking, fun and interesting to transform, and has a pretty decent alt-mode. No regrets here.
