Yup, you said it right, the elbow was designed in that way to facilitate the transformation.

The head is on a swivel joint where you need to remove the screw underneath to remove the head to swap it out. You have 2 heads, one for Prime and one for Nemesis Prime.

As for the paint chipping, this sample has gone through rounds with a few Chinese reviewers. Probably manhandled by them.

Yes, that would be my assumption too. I have a feeling that the final retail version will be the same.

I have the same feeling which would be a real shame. Its a beautiful figure but the few unpainted bits really detract from it. I feel the same about Maketoys Downbeat. Almost perfect except for the unpainted swirly shins, feet and weapons.

Wonder if we would see someone like Mr Bucket release a hand kit for him. The backs of the hands have the blue plastic and flame decal which could make it hard to match. Maybe just replacement fingers?

Movie verse wise I want a decent ROTF Megatron and Shockwave and then I'm done.... unless we get an amazing Grimlock that outdoes the SS version with DNA designs kit.

Thanks for the reply! If the head swap involves screws then I’ll probably never swap them haha don’t wanna risk stripping a screw! Never cared much for the nemesis prime as we got him in TLK just cause it was so brief. I wish they had gone for a white LED and just had colored plastic integrated into the faces so there was no need for a whole head swap.

Did they tell you what type of batteries he requires so I can buy in advance?

Thanks for posting this up, nice written review. I cant wait! :D

I know this is a nitpick for most of us...the fingers being unpainted but if its possible to inform UT about this. Because I fear this will not change for the retail version.:(

Still sad about the missing Spark Extractor / Arm Cannon.
But Lockdown Wrist Blade is what i wanted most as a Bonus Weapon.

Uhm what Battery type does Optimus Head need?
Can someone post the Name and maybe a Picture of the Battery?
So i can already buy some.

Love the pics TC took. I too wanted to see what LT-02 looked like with Challenger and they look amazing. My only nitpick would be that they should paint that part that holds the sword on the back of the shield silver so it doesn't look that plain white plastic look. Still hoping they paint the hands silver because I too don't like the color of those. Overall I will be very happy once I own this piece.

It bothers me in truck mode how many different shades of red there are. compared to the paint on the other truck in the pics which are so uniform and smooth. I think the paint in vehicle mode is really poorly done. hopefully not the final colors.
he is an engineering masterpiece though, interested to see toyworld's colors now. Great pics!

Remember, this isn't a finished product, so that may b corrected.

That grey piece on the side of the truck bothers me as well, but I'm sure that will b painted on the finished product.

Their Lockdown stuff clearly did not specify what was intended.

So if we only get the wrist blade, maybe they will do another bonus in the next release?

But that is again a very shitty Tactic. If they add Bonus to 1 Figure = Okay.
But spreading all Weapons that were intended for the first Figure, to all other future releases?

If the next Figure for example is Hound; and he has an Bonus Spark Extractor for example.
Then i will never get this Bonus Weapon, because i have no Interest in Hound.

Adding missing Parts to ONE Future Release is okay, but spreading it across all other Figures?
    No, sorry.

I mean, even Mafex does this. Adding Bonus Parts for 1 Batman Figure, to the Package of the Second.
But thats it. You do not need to buy Mafex Figure B,C,D,E, just to get all Weapons together for Figure A.
Most of the time Bonus Parts for Figure A, are included in Figure B. Thats it.

Would be very Shitty if UT would do it that way.

But even if they would do this....shitty Tactic, i would still buy every Movie
Figure from them (Only the Characters that iam interested in)

Because as i said, for Movie Figures UT is my Company now.
    And for Combiners Generation Toys.

I mostly stick to Companies that made me Happy with their Figures in the Past.

Like I said earlier, if they don't want to include all the accessories with the figure in the first place, they should just release them on their own instead of packing it with another figure. I can forgive including Lockdown's sword with Optimus because he's a total must-have, but spreading one figure's accessories across several others would be really shitty.

Not that there's any evidence they're even gonna do that, but still...

If the weapon is suitable for the character than I wouldn't mind. For example, packaging the spark extractor with Ratchet....

This figure looks DAMN amazing and HUGE. Hell...I think DX9 and UT just won me over. Maybe they can mold the fingers in a darker color if they're worried about silver paint rubbing off the fingers.
