So I have been going back and forth on purchasing 2010 Unicron. I have been checking sites and inventory levels. So today I went to check again and they all just disappeared.

Toy Arena for instance showed stock of 40 items. On EBay, they had 3 available. Now they are gone.

Do stores just pull their own stock at any time? I guess I will just see them again in 6 months for $200 I guess.

The local stores near me just jacked up his price as well. He was $185, and now he is $200. Is there some type of freaking price fixing scheme amongst all these damn resellers or something.

I guess the lesson is, don't think, just spend blindly.

Depends. I've had orders get to me in less than seven days, but my last order with them has taken two weeks so far and it still hasn't arrived (it was in customs in NYC for about a week).

I actually just called them. They had one left.

I have to leave now, hopefully they have it when I get home. I think the box is dinged up a bit the guy said.

Wow. That's some blind, misinformed accusation.

Once a toy's production run ends, meaning the factory isn't making any more of them, then the price is going to increase. What's been made is all there's going to be, minus some reissue or second production run due to demand but those don't happen often.

No price fixing, just basic economics. Supply is limited, demand is high, price goes up.

Last one, lucky you! I also got my Unicron from Robot Kingdom, came through perfectly, although it did have the mismatched teeth problem. And I live in Europe. Their packages are tracked, so even with a customs delay, it's pretty safe.

Man, I knew he would sell out. How's Primus doing? I never bought him... Thinking of getting him and doing some part swapping with my Cybertron version.

BBTS has over 200 in stock, TFSource has 38, so Primus is still out there.

Makes me REALLY glad I ordered my 2010 Unicron yesterday, also from TA.

As noted earlier in the thread, Toyarena still has Unicron in stock. I had been going back and forth on Unicron as well but once I saw BBTS sell out about a week and a half ago, I knew I better buy from another vendor fast or give up the chance of ever owning the figure.

Considering that production seems to have been limited on Unicron, I think the value of the figure could really skyrocket in the future. If they don't rerealease the figure, there may never be another version as accurate to G1. I am glad I got one.

I would love to get Primus but don't want to pay $140. Since the character is not as popular, he may be around long enough to be apart of a sale.

I dunno about the states, but when I choose registered airmail to me in Italy, usually their parcels arrive in 10 days :)  I think that the time for the states will be pretty the same or even better :)

It's 2010 Unicron. Why should it be available for a reasonable price in 2011? :lol
