In my personal oppinion, ZOIDS are about the most unique models next to Transformers. The ability to build a robot that walks under its own power (most of the time) makes me feel great, and to know the possibilitys there are in customizing it is even better.

I actualy have alot more ZOIDS models and figures than Transformers and I have customized quite a few of them. My favorite being my Saber Fang, now dubbed "Zabre"
It came into existance as one of the Hasbro release yellow "Zaber Fangs". But that was boring and lame. So I painted it with red nailpolish to give it a bloody look.
After about a year with the red Zabre, I grew bored again and painted it gold. This coloring gave it an old, weathered look because I used several different gold paints that made it look like it had been damaged and painted again.
Finaly, I got my hands on some black and silver Spraypaint and went to town. Painting the smaller pieces that show through the main armor silver and painting all of the main pieces black with a mist of silver to make it Mettalic black.

As a character, Zabre is piloted by your typical "anti-hero" type of kid. He found it in a scrapyard and fixed it up, stealing the Howitzer from some rich dude. Zabre is missing half of its right fang and seems to have a mind of its own.

The final modification came with a Long Range howitzer from a Molga Customize kit (have yet to paint that...)

i love zoids too, but they aren't very possible and such, plus after you bulid them it takes away most of the fun, most of the fun is just the buliding of them, which i can get the same fun out of, if i buy the Stikfas, which are much cheaper, how ever i bet they would look great together. has any one ever tried putting a Stikfa on top of a zoid before?

Ah zoids. Such a wonderful line. A customizer's dream line. Too bad it's died in the US and I haven't the funds to import the latest releases.

I bought a few, but once you build them there really isn't much to do with them.

I think one of the draw-backs is the lack of articulation but then again, Zoids won't be Zoids if they can't move.

Well, If you notice, Zabre isn't like the normal Zoids. It stands square and can be pozed to a degree. I need to figure out how to make ball and socket joints for the shoulder/hip joints...Most of my Zoids have been modified so they can be pozed.

The line totaly died in the US when Cartoon Network stopped playing the show. I can't even find cheap ones at TRU anymore. They had the Ultrasaurus for less than $20!

Yeah I bought a bunch a while back. They are awesome to build, but after that they are dull and boring.

Nice pics! I love Zoids & they have a very mean scale. In person , even the small ones look vicious. The big ones will most likely over shadow anything else on that shelf (since anything would hardly fit)

Would love to master the art of some hardcore weathering detailing on these babies.

I've got a small army of Shadow Foxes!

    Therefore, Zoids are neat. :)

i always loved zoids, they look awsome but for me there was one large problem for me......i suck at model making. They always came out looking like i had chainsawed them out of the packet and crazy glued it together :lol

I've got about 80 Zoids, including all the ones I had as a kid in the 80s. I love the things. I even have some rare ones. :)

    XD
I need to get a Shadow Fox...they are possibly one of the coolest looking Zoids I've ever seen.
I'm going to learn airbrushing and figure out how to do weathering so I can add it to all of my models (Zoids and Gundam)

All I can say is, if you intend to paint a Zoid with spraypaint, make sure to put tape around the pegs for the joints.....>.<
