So the other day we were resetting our toy department at Target. Part of the process is to check under the baseboards of the aisles to see if theres any product under them. very rarely do we find stuff but this time we did: all of them are long since clearanced out and out of the system. with a little talk with the store team lead I picked them all up for 2$ each. We also found a couple of sponge bob barbie dolls a few other more recent star wars figures (that were still in the system) and most amusingly we found a vhs copy of Home alone!. The gijoe is almost as old as the store (2002!) I just had to rescue them, (even though i have no interest in move crap ..they make an interesting conversation piece at the very least) Has anyone else who worked/works in retail ever found interesting stuff lke this?
Nice find man! Pity it wasn't G1, that would've been great. I considered getting into property developing, specifically buying old toy shops, wasn't a sound business plan though Many years (15) ago I worked in a cinema, got a genuine 1960's Adam West Batman movie poster. That's been a keeper.
Cool find. Even though you don't like movie toys I'd say u should open one of the 'Bees. Those scalper's are getting more & more clever!
