Link contains pics - it looks like they are scared to death of the plane.

Another article I read says it's probably a woman and it appears she is painted with some sort of dye made from fruits.

that's pretty neat. looks like the men are painted red and the women are black. it's so weird seeing these customs of people who have never seen the outside world. it would be cool to get more pictures of them without actually invading their land... maybe with a really hardcore zoom lens on a plane, then just let them be for a few years before checking on them again for an update.

They couldn't have done this with a satellite or a less invasive way?

Why does it feel like this plane was 30ft off the ground above these huts.

I seriously doubt the US military or the NSA is going to let Brazil use their satellites for finding uncontacted tribes in the amazon. ;)

Probably cause it was. These were taken by a guy hanging out the window of a bush plane. Like this one here.

Neat, I hope they do keep that land intact as I would hate to see a tribe like this who has survived for so long with no idea of the outside world just suddenly snuffed out.

Hard to belive that they have never seen a Airplane. Would they not see the odd Jet Liner?
Ccan't rememeber the tribe name, but there was a Hoax years ago where National Geographic was dupped by people who were supposed to be a lost tribe.

Hmmmm... there's been a LOT of media coverage here in Brazil on the Amazon forest in the last two weeks or so, especially regarding illegal logging and the actual territory ownership controversy. It's funny how this tribe was discovered just now, regardless of all good and bad that comes with it.

That pretty much looks like the US in about a year when gas prices get to $12 a gallon.

That is supposed to be funny?

It seems that they painted themselves after the first fly over. The paint might be a symbol of aggression. They were unaware of the first fly over, and then prepared themselves for the next one.
