Just got United Scourge today so just a short feedback. Yes, I was pretty late for the party.

First impressions, flip vehicle over, expect to see robot kibble. Reaction, WHOA! Nothing! Totally clean with proper landing gears. Let’s just say this piece of art is wonderfully engineered.
I would like to comment that the vehicle mode is one of the most well done figure till date. Very compact and everything unfolds during the transformation. Peek-A-Boo mode is a throwback to the G1 days. Like it alot.

I adore this figure so much. Much better then the Generations counterpart. Few reasons why I prefer United over the Generations brother. Firstly, it would be the better attention to paint details. Things like the red eyes & claws as well as the metallic blue chest meshing with the vibrant blue plastic for the shoulders and such. Definitely beings more depth to the figure. Also, it has to be the smaller Decepticon emblem compared to Generations. Generations had too big an emblem I must say.

Some nitpicks though. The figure is lacking of a good forward & side arm articulation. I don’t like to pivot the entire shoulders together just to raise his arms. His shoulders are just too clunky for it to look natural.

Finally to end off, Scourge is a overall excellent figure. I love the accessories, transformation as well as the robot mode. Dual wielding gunslingers are just too awesome. If you need a Scourge and his Sweeps this is definitely the Scourge. Generations simply have only Sweeps. United Scourge is highly recommended especially if you like the Galva-trinity.

    Thanks!

Got it in my POL, and happy to be getting it, but to be honest, the half gloss look doesn't look all that great on this fig based on the few pics I have seen. Wish they had gone all out with the gloss on this badboy.

Scourge comes off better than most, especially in that his metallic paint is a dull sparkle-fleck deal, rather than the super high metallic gloss of others.

But the mix-and-match affair in the finishes bugs the heck out of me. I don't expect them to paint the whole toy, but would it kill them to at least attempt to match the plastic colours to the paint? Again, he doesn't make out as poorly as some of the others, but the metallic, deep aqua blue next to the vibrant royal blue just isn't optimal. Simply taking the Hasbro toy and slapping new paint on it just seems lazy to me.

At least he's not as bad as Soundwave or Perceptor... at least his blues still complement each other well enough. It's not Soundwave's patchwork rich, royal indigo against the dull grey-blue, or Perceptor's rich, candied-apple red against the faded red.

So yeah, the toy itself is awesome, but Takara's attempts to go "premium" with this line has been sorely lacking.

Unfortuately I don't have the United just the Generations, but I see why the United version is better than the Generations. But I like the Generations the most and have no quarrel with the United. It's personal preferences.

He suffers from the fragmented shiny paint like Animated Starscream did. I think Hasbro is the way to go on this one.

If the blue molded plastic matched the paint, this guy would definitely worth the import price. Don't get me wrong, he looks sweet but, for what you pay, there should be more paint apps or something. Great pics btw!:thumb

Don't have Generations Scourge at the moment.

I think he's kind of a hit or miss kind of thing for alot of collectors. Personally for me it works. Colours are vibrant and enough to attract me to United over Generations.

It's a nice piece. I'm sure you would like it. :)

and I thought that he was completely in that glossy blue paint -- it turns out that only the blue parts seen in vehicle mode are the ones in glossy blue....

I wish they'd at least painted his head (or at least parts of his head) to tie it all together better.

I have mine since a few days and I absolutely love him! Only downside are his legs, they could have been nicer. Some knees and better feet would have been nice. But apart of that he looks really beautiful!

You are absolutely right. The blue used for the paint is awesome, there just isn't nearly enough of it. It looks half assed. I wish the same effort that was put into Wreck Gar was used for Scourge.
