This is my first custom. It's a repaint of my TFA Voyager OP. Ran into some rubbing issues and needs some minor touch ups, but I'm pretty satisfied with how my first custom turned out. C&Cs welcomed.

That's a nice paint job. I'm not big on the whole "White Prime Magnus" thing, but this looks really nice, especially for a first custom.

Very nice! How did you get the white to go on so well? Red is such a hard color to paint over, especially with white :x

Excellent work. Hope to see more from you in the future- you've got great potential :]

    No red eyes? BLASPHEMY!
just kiddin'. Magnus is my favourite G1 character, and i love the white prime version every bit as much as i love the armor version. Very nice repaint.

very nice, clean paint job. To help with your rubbing issues, try sanding down those areas with a 400 grit sandpaper.

he looks awesome!!!how did you keep your windshield so clean?

i am unsure if i like the new ultra magnus not seeing him out of the box yet. i would have been happy with your version rather than a new mold i guess i am just used to it over the years lol

Thanks for all the comments guys. I actually took the whole figure apart before painting him, that's how I kept the windshield clean. Then I "primed" him twice. Once with light gray and then white using Tamiya spray cans. It looked pretty good after the second priming, but I finished it off with some brush work. I kept some of the original color just to break up the tone of all the white. I also wanted to paint more of the little details, but not so good with the brush just yet.

Yeah I know. I actually started working on something for it, but I was just excited to finish the figure and I didn't want to just paint over it because I like the glowing eyes.

If you use red marker it will still be clear.

That's awesome! Makes me want to do one myself...

Did you take the head apart too? I tried that when I painted my Voyager OP's eyes (I hate light-piping) and couldn't get the faceplate off and the head pieces separated. I removed the screws and the pin and it wouldn't budge. I didn't want to risk breaking it so I just left it on. Made removing the clear blue piece a little tricky, but I managed.

WOW... Looks outstanding!!! Nice work, I would swipe him off the shelf so fast if he was in the toy isle. Your Magnus really makes me want to try a custom of my own.
