.....Oh man I wanna see more!
here is a quick photoshopped...
and a comparison shot...
without a real waist atop those legs, it looks like he's clothed but with his pants down
yeah, i didn't feel like dremelling off a waist...
oh, and lighting the eyes are two 5mm 3.7 volt blue led's, powered by a nine volt battery.
thats one awsome remold. If only takara had mad the MP2 Magnus lik that
here's the recipe:
1 g1 ultra magnus, minus white truck cab
1 large gundam wing figure
2 1/144 serpent custom legs (launchers)
2 tomahawk model plane missles
and lights for the eyes..
and a hi res closeup...the arms still need work.
thanks. anything that really sticks out, or anthing that needs improvement?
The progress on this kitbash is pretty awesome. The only places that look like they need improvement are...
1. The waist - Most Transformers' bodies taper down towards the waist and then, like superhero underpants, expand out to house the leg ball joints. Although I know you were using the original Magnus to do this rebuild, the combination of dynamic lower legs and static upper torso make for an odd combination, in my opinion.
My suggestion: It might be worth it to dremel down the upper torso into a more "superhero" build, so that, when it meets the waist, it doesn't look like Magnus has been hitting the Energon-burgers so hard.
2. I'm not sure what you're planning to do with the lower legs, but I'd suggest filling them in. Go back and have a look at Magnus' legs in the film - they were pretty damn blocky all the way around. It looks like you're using the original Magnus toy for this rebuild, so I know the outer legs are already built up. At this point, all you should have to do is like, y'know, fill the inner legs in with some putty and cover that up with some well-placed styrene so that the inner side of each leg at least mirrors or duplicates the basic shape of the outer side of each leg.
Anyway you can thicken out the lower legs? Also, develop the crotch/waist piece more and paint it blue, atleast the croch piece under the "belt." Otherwise it's looking cool.
Edit- Ops was a truck basically said everything I was thinking
some bad photoshopping
the main thing, thats been pointed out already, is his waist/"groin" area
id say use some Gundam-ish flaps and stuff to cover up the joints as well as fill the area in and make it look less skinny/naked looking
the legs, i know you probaby cant do much about, but they look quite misproportioned [most likely due to the legs]
just saying that IMO they'd look better bigger but ah well.
still, from the waist up this is one mad Magnus kitbash! mad cool!
update: waist is now more defined w/ blue paint, arms are set in, and faction symbols added.
I don't think it's been asked yet but does it transform?
it doesn't transform.
Now THAT's a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus!
