Wow... seeing him painted up... I'm quite amazed at just how well that works for him! Great idea and great job man!

^ THIS sold me on the idea.

You should add the finished pics on your first post btw. That way people can spot the end result as soon as they click, rather than scour thru the thread for them.

Wow. Just, wow. That is some damned good work. I love how you didn't just do a straight repaint, but found a way to make it totally unique. I especially love the headsculpt.

I can't believe this idea turned out this well. That looks GREAT and you get crazy extra bonus points for thinking of such a creative use of that mold.

Looks spot on as UM. Great work! My only crit is the missile launchers in 'bot mode, but it's a matter of taste I guess.

man that worked out so well. It screams Ultra Magnus. I never would have thought the Inferno mold could be such a good UM.

Already posted here to say this rules but just had a couple of questions, if you don't mind?

Did you use a gloss paint for the blue?
Did you add wear to the edges? I can't tell if it's due to the photo quality/flash etc.
Did you paint white on after the primer?

The idea is genius, man. We really need a CHUG UM and this fits the bill so damn perfectly. I'll be stealing the idea in the future, may God forgive me.

Thanks for all the comments! I'm more than happy that so many people like this and that some will end up copying it! (Post results, would love to see these!)

I did use gloss blue. I also went over everything w/ a final coat of clear Future Shine.

Wear to the edges: I think some of it might be paint rub. It wasn't my intent, but it works well for "wear". So um, yeah, I "added" wear to the edges :)

I did paint w/ gloss white after the grey primer.

    Thanks again!

    Great work on this mod!

Could you make a Scourge/Nemesis Prime version as well?

Or if someone knows a good head to swap for that I'm all ears.

Will do, once I finish paint on Optimus.

lol, I'm actually working on another Optimus, voyager-sized now (no post yet) that I got another Grappel last weekend. Actually, I picked up 2 Grappels so if it turns out well I will probably do a Scourge eventually.
